I think most that follow western mainstream media aren't fully aware of the strings that are typically attached when it comes to American aid. Your 1% don't get to earn from helping your homeless. In Ukraine, the MIC wins as the weapons are purchased from them while your banks are paid the high interest owed. I wouldn't be surprised if you get access to their oil & gas fields too.

As an American I’m also surprised by the attack. However, what we don’t know is exactly how “uncooperative” the West (USA) was with Russia’s security requested. It’s likely that the USA fully intended provoking Putin into a war. What the West didn’t expect is how badly they have shot themselves in the feet and knees as America will lead the West into a ressession. Putin recognizes this; that it is the West who are vulnerable to the sanctions\s effects. . What’s clear now, yet not clear to my fellow Americans, is how thoroughly, from top to bottom, US propaganda is and how long that propaganda machine has been controlling Americans]’s reference frames about our so-called enemies. The USA has a tight grasp on what it’s people are allowed to think too.

The US very much provoked Putin into a war. They baited him so they could shut down NordStream 2 and _(attempt to)_ kill Russia's economy. The US desperately wants a single-front war with China before 2030, so they had to tie up the Russian front. That's my guess on what their calculus is. Oh also it's great for Halliburton & Raytheon.

One can talk about virtues or justice, but in the real world, might makes right - it's a sad fact but is true. In the face of NATO arming Ukraine to the teeth, would Putin do the virtuous thing, to wait for NATO to bring insurgency into Russian borders in 5 years, or decide to act now? I believe Putin made this decision based on his understanding of military and economic realities.

Here in Siberia workers feel how price growing up, but they understand why this happened and show support our government. And they truly happy that our businessman and politics cant no longer keep their money on the western bank and spend their money on the west. What I find weird in Sahnin's analysis is that he focused pretty much on moralistic arguments which come from a perspective that I don't really understand. I have a huge issue of painting this and every other war by personalisation of the leaders, deducing the current historical course from supposedly "narrow" thinking of individuals (Putin, Lavrov, Shoigu, who "didn't take into account this or that"), bafflingly ignoring the whole caste of politicians, consultants and figureheads involved in such huge decisions. Also, downplaying the complete integration of nazi elements in Ukrainian military, economic structures, political institutions (how do you think unpunished pogroms against Russophone people or Roma people could take place otherwise?) by saying "those are some militarised soldiers" is really misleading, and I don't understand the purpose of this. You can absolutely oppose the invasion, but don't take the people who are talking to for idiots who cannot grasp nuance by diminishing the horrible chauvinist political climate in Ukraine. I've seen lousy arguments claiming nazi Svoboda party gained only 2% in the last nationwide elections, so they're not that relevant, ignoring that their leaders have won many local elections and were gaining loads of political momentum. Also, Russian invasion didn't mobilise Ukrainian "patriots" against it, decades long Russophobic propaganda did that. These things don't happen overnight. It's quite telling that there isn't any significant peaceful anti-war movement inside Ukraine which would appeal to pacifist notions - people with those leanings are atomized and afraid, but they're not afraid of Russian tanks, they're afraid of "their own" paramilitary and National Guard gangs. Various groups and fractions of those unaccountable mobs (Azov, Aidar, C14, Pravyi sektor, Svoboda paramilitary) may or may not have the absolute support from the state, but they certainly cause the state to close both eyes to their fascist reactionary violence. I have zero sympathy for anyone who fights for that regime.

@@natglagla56 But not incorrect. The US and British right wing since 1917 has been involved in a project to fracture the Soviet Union. And they tried to do it by supporting Nationalism in the Ukraine. But part of that Ukraine Nationalism ended up supporting the Nazi and being collaborators in a holocaust. What ever your opinion of the communists may be, this is a historical fact. The fact that both the EU and USA are now willing to ignore a Ukrainian Nazi ideology which continues gaining ground is a continuation of this. You now have German Social democrats and Poles who were murdered by Nazi sending aid that ends up supporting Nazi. Putin’s main goal is imperialism and resources. A story about democracy: A farmer asked his son before he died, "Pigs complain about poor feed, cows complain about heavy work, and chickens complain about dirty nests. What should you do?". The son said: "Change to good feed, buy more cows, clean up Chicken coop." The farmer shook his head and said. "No, don't do anything. Let them vote, let them choose you or your wife to take care of them, and let them think they control their own fate”. Democracy is only meaningful when the rulers represent our interests. When a government genuinely puts the interests of the people ahead of their own, it doesn’t matter what system is in place.

Interesting. The thing of it is, as one usually surmise in such situation, is that since time immemorial, neither the East or West has experienced true real democracy. Whereby the citizenry and those they elect takes true responsibility for their choices. We have always been led to "believe" rather than encourage to "think for ourselves" consciously. To fear, to hate, to smear, to detest and to punch in the nose those who don't comply. Rather if we value each other like we value ourselves, we can create a just and proper society that builds upon real true effective love, freedom, harmony and peace.

About Ukraine: nation created in Lenin's time (not to be confused with the history of the city of Kiev and/or with Kievan Rus & its Rurik dynasty started by Prince Rurik of Novgorod; Novgorod is an ancient Russian city), but only theoretical/administrative terms, since it remained under Russian control in the Soviet era, the conformation of its territory today consists mainly of territories that have historically belonged to the Russians (from the center to the eastern and southern side) and the western side has historically belonged to Poland. Important issue about Poland: the h4tred of the Poles towards the Russians is immense and it is they who have partly influenced the western part of Ukraine, this h4tred is historical, since Poland and Russia have had multiple w4rs for several centuries, even the Poles invaded Moscow at some point and were driven out by the Russians (look for the monument to Minin and Pozharsky in Moscow's Red Square). Now if you add this historical h4tred towards Russia with Neo-Naz1 elements (in western Ukraine) that by default relate Russia to the greatest enemy of the Naz1s, that is, the Soviets, who ended up destroying their beloved H1tler, you will have a gigantic anti-Russian national1sm, which the United States has been able to use as a geopolit1cal tool against the Russ1ans. On the current crisis: The people of Donbass are ethnic Russians and they did not support the 2014 coup, as those who took control of Kiev (with US backing) are openly xenophob1c against the Russians, they even banned the Russian language in Ukraine, which is the native language of the people living in Donbass. Ethnic Russians have lived in Donbass for several centuries, so at the moment they are defending their families and the lands where they have lived for many generations. People living in Donbass voted in a referendum to gain more autonomy and stay *inside* Ukraine, the latter being important as it shows that the Western narrative that the Donbass conflict was started by "pro-Russian separat1sts" is not is so true and this was part of the typical western pr0paganda to confuse the world about reality and adapt everything to the western narrative of "it's Russia's fault", I repeat "the people of Donbass did not vote for independence from Ukraine and/or to join Russia, they voted to have more autonomy within Ukraine", in fact this is the basis of the famous Minsk agreements that Kiev and the West refuse to implement (accusing Russia of not complying with them, when Russia does not has obligations in the agreement), and it has to be repeated that the people of Donbass wanted this because they simply never accepted the 2014 coup, which brought to power people who h4te ethnic Russians. The Ukrainian army launched an 4ttack on these regions in 2014, moving its entire 4rsenal against the civilians of Donbass, this topic is important since the w4r takes place in the lands of Donbass, therefore civilian v1ctims are always the civilians who live in the Donbass (usually the Western media always interviews Ukrainian civilians living in regions that do not suff3r the real consequences of these w4rs), the people of Donbass won practically all the b4ttles, there were a lot of material on youtube about these b4ttles, where they showed civilians f1ghting aga1nst the Ukrainian army, but youtube has cens0red almost everything. These victories should not really surprise us too much, since the people of Donbass were defend1ng their homes against people who h4te Russians (their ethn1city), any of us would fight with full force if you see that your family is thre4tened by crazy rac1sts that h4te your friends and family, today after all the 4ttacks they have received by Kiev, if they hold a new referendum it is very sure that they will vote to join Russia, they have already seen the true face of the Westerners and of those they control Kiev today. It is interesting that the West always supports autonomies when they are initiated within en3my nations: H0ng K0ng in Ch1na, the K*rds in Syr1a, K0s0vo in Serb1a, Ch3chny4 in Russ1a and a long list. It is true that Russ1a supports those Russ1ans who live in Donbass, in fact it has more right to do so than the illegal military presence of the Y4nkees in northern Syr1a ("support1ng" the K*rds and steal1ng Syrian oil along the way), the inhabitants from Donbass are ethn1c Russ1ans, they are in lands close to the Russ1an border (secur1ty issue), they have an obvious connection with Russ1an culture and above all they share many family members with Russ1ans, for this reason after 2014 many residents of Donbass have obtained a Russian p4ssport (Russian citizensh1p). Possible w4r: If a w4r breaks out between Russ1a and Ukra1ne, it will be when K1ev attacks the Russ1ans living in D0nbass, because Russ1a has said for years that it will intervene with the Russian 4rmy to protect its citizens in any part of the world, including the D0nbass region, some believe that Russia will r0ot out the pr0blem, even reaching K1ev to cle4n up the g0vernment house that is under US c0ntrol. The US n4rrative about a possible Russian 1nvas1on of Ukra1ne is based on this last point, because the Y4nkees know very well that a provocation from K1ev is enough for Russ1a to 1ntervene and the Western med1a will have "pr0of" of the alleged 4ggress1on against the "peaceful" K1ev. The western n4rr4t1ve has always been based on l1es, they are heirs to the Br1t1sh emp1re, experts in this type of str4tegy: ly1ng, caus1ng d1vis1on and succeed1ng. The objectives of the Un1ted States: Everything written above explains some symptoms, but not the real cause of the confl1ct and the main objective. As everyone knows, the United States became the hegemon1c world power when Europe was totally destroyed in the Sec0nd W0rld W4r, destruct1on that also extended in Asia, China was the second nation to suffer more hum4n l0sses after the Sov1et Un1on. Therefore today, in a world where Ch1na has managed to 0vertake the United States in terms of GDP-PPP, becoming the first und1sputed w0rld p0wer in economic terms, the United States has no other alternative than to resort to w4r in order to ret4ke the hegem0ny that has been l0sing, a new c0ld w4r is necessary to d3str0y Russia economically and gain full c0ntrol of Western Europe (in ec0nomic and p0litical terms), this will help to c0nfr0nt Ch1na (the Western med1a is already mention1ng Ch1na in this European confl1ct). You have doubts? Just look at what N$TO's first secretary general, Lord Ismay, said, explaining NATO's goal: "to keep the USA in, the Russ1ans out, and the Germ4ns d0wn." The US is the one who needs this w4r, that's why the western med1a controlled by the western el1te push this w4r, the Ukrain1ans are just a che4p t0ol for the westerners. Now we must write using numbers to avoid western c3ns0rsh1p, long live fr33 w3stern express1on haha.

Why did Rome invade Britain ? What did those druids do to offend Rome ? Why did Britain invade North America, India and so on ? What did those indians do to offend the queen ? Why did the US invade...insert list of invaded countries here ? Was he as perplexed when the US invaded Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, and so on ? Or when the British Empire invaded most of the world ? Most superpowers are created by invading weaker nations who are seen as inferior, like the europeans (now americans) did with the indians, and they are maintained by many other invasions for world domination, protection against others empires expansion, or for natural resources, oil, gas, gold, uranium, and so on. @Achrononmaster

@18:00 only slip made by Alexey. He does not understand currency systems. The ruble is worth whatever the monopoly issuer (The Duma) says it is worth (whether they know it or not). They are the sole tax authority in ruble, they say what a Russian needs to do to earn a ruble, they can drive as much domestic employment in ruble as they need, in perpetuity, as long as the Duma stands. Russia's problem is with foreign exchange rates, which impact the _import capacity_ of ordinary Russian workers and firms who produce real goods but need import inputs. However, over the years Russia has built significant domestic capacity, thanks to prior sanctions, so they can make do without a few otherwise crucial imports for a fairly long time. Russian lower-middle class standards of living will suffer, but if Putin was engaged in a _justified_ war they could withstand. Seems their problem is there is no popular support for Putin's actions, and that is why they probably cannot withstand a prolonged assault on Ukraine. Same story in Turkey by the way. Turkey can sustain full employment indefinitely, at any inflation rate, if they choose to employ Turks in lira, because they are the monopoly issuer of lira and they tax only in lira. Turkey's problem is they have interest rates backwards: when the government is an _enormous_ net payer of interest through Treasury bonds, they are injecting free basic income into their economy --- basic income but _only for people who already have money._ That's all demand with zero supply, a huge inflationary pressure. If you plot the Turkish CB interest rate against inflation there is almost perfect correlation. That'll almost always be the case when the government Treasury issue is about 50% or more of GDP. They should just stop issuing Turkish bonds, stop the free gifts to the rich. Instead, they should inject lira by giving workers a guaranteed job _option_ in the public sector. tradingeconomics.com/turkey/interest-rate tradingeconomics.com/turkey/inflation-cpi You need to discount the sharp jump in covid inflation, which is all supply shock cost-push, not interest-income demand pull. Same in most countries that run a floating exchange rate, their inflation is highly positively correlated with the central bank interest rate floor --- when the bond issue is more than about 50% of GDP --- and absent commodity supply shock cost adjustments. It is _different_ for countries on gold-conversion, fixed exchange rate, or _pegged to the dollar,_ their inflation is correlated with the currency (or basket) they peg to, not to their CB interest rate.

If one employs this philosophy a nation could justify anything . Justifying an illegal occupation by exampling a time another illegal occupation was committed is morally vicious. Even if let's say, Putin's arguments are correct, he loses his argument and reasonings as soon as he stops diplomatic and democratic action and just starts attacking , which HE KNOWS will kill many ordinary people. As someone who comprehends a good amount of Russian and knows people who’ve taught English around the country (& know Russian)… I think most Russians are against Putin and this war, but understand the hypocrisy of the western elite. However, this view isn’t really reflected anywhere officially. In other words, it’s a largely voiceless population and none of the powers that be care to actually voice the real majority. There’s Putin’s regime which is insane and full of Shit in many ways, then there’s the communists (some who are critical of Putin), then there’s the western funded “liberals” (read: neoliberals) who are pretty elitists & don’t really interact with ordinary Russians but go on western media and scream “99% of Russian society is brainwashed and backwards but not us, we’re the intellectuals.” (They tend to scream they’re anti-war in Russia, but are shills for western imperialism). The groups I mentioned above have their loud followers, western media shows them, but omits normal grassroots activist who don’t have black and white views.. thus creating a very boxed portrayal of Russia & Russian society.

There's good amount of incentive for standing with the mainstream narrative propped up by Western regime. You van see how many Russians online have had to apologize with their words or their livelihood. This is something which never happens whenever a western regime initiates war, commits atrocities both in their past and present, it is brushed off as "Meh, that happened, it definitely isn't happening anymore." Any other source of information which doesn't cater to their line is censored or dismissed without any debunking done in public. When this is done by Eastern nations (mostly done in scenario when there's deliberate defamation) they're vilified, portrayed as animals-ghouls you name it. You can find multiple evidence of Ukraine's government and its armed forces having Na$$i in their ranks(From mainstream media as well from 2-3 years back). Coming to the point, all these celebrities have a lot to gain from hopping on this Russophobic bandwagon. 15:25 Actually you started the war along with Germany when Hitler and Stalin agreed to invade Poland. And then, unlike Putin, Stalin didnt have any reason to invade Poland other than Hitler asked him for help. So Hitler and Stalin were allies, and even signed a non-agression pact, until Hitler got greedy and decided to invade Russia.

“They were such close allies they even signed a non-aggression pact” this sentence tells me you are a historian because allies and friends often require written agreements to not attack each other, unlike enemies and rivals who simply trust each other to not go to war. Also, the Soviet Union invaded Poland for no reason, just like how Poland magically acquired a bunch of Belarusian and Ruthenian lands beyond the Curzon line that required no aggression of its own while the Soviet Union was fighting a civil war.

@@therollerlollerman you talk to someone that knows only 5% of history of this episode. the dictatorship in poland is being whitewashed over time as the poor victim. the same goes for france and uk...the poor countries that just wanted peace..lol

@@klauskinski5969 Absolutely agree. It's important to highlight Polish victims of WW2 (I believe that they had the highest ratio of victims to populations of any nation involved in the war), but whitewashing of Polish interwar governments, their ultranationalist and fascist policies and willing siding with Nazi Germany is unacceptable to everyone who values basic historical truth
