SuperYou (www.superyoumusical.com) is a musical by Lourds Lane about a woman who learns to reconnect to her dreams and value her voice when her own superheroine creations come to life. With a veteran award-winning Broadway creative team, led by director/choreographer, JoAnn Hunter, SuperYou was set to open at The Daryl Roth Theater on May 27th, but was forced to shut down due to the coronavirus. Exactly one month later, SuperYou performed concert performances upstate at a drive-in movie theater in Amenia, NY to sold out crowds. The cast performed on socially distanced pick-up trucks. SuperYou delivered epic performances that are safe and secure under these unprecedented circumstances, while simultaneously creating history as the first theatrical show to find a way to stage safe, socially distanced performances during the global pandemic.

This video of "Fragmented features Kennedy Caughell, who recently starred as Carol King in the National Tour of "Beautiful," and as Carol King in "Beautiful" on Broadway (understudy). Musicians featured in the video are book/music/lyrics writer, Lourds Lane on violin, and music supervisor, Wendy Bobbitt Cavett, who is also the current music director of "Come from Away" on Broadway.
The video depicts a girl who is always searching for a superhero outside herself. She craves someone else to make her feel whole. When she tragically loses a cherished loved one, she feels unalterably broken. The song, "Fragmented" is resonant now more than ever because it depicts that moment of devastating grief when our lives suddenly look completely different than what it was.
