@@BrandonGeorge21 i'd argue apple is getting better. They went from shit boxes with the intel cpu's to great laptops as long as you use the thing like a chromebook and never opened the damn thing up to service it.

Great review. I am on board with this product. Went for the 16 as I’ll be doing light gaming. As long as they continue to provide updates to hardware, I believe the crowds will flow. Looking forward to technfluencing when I finally get my FW16

Thankyou, I would like to try out the 16, curious if its as sturdy as the 13 given its many modular parts.

Careful about the 16 with some very demanding game, it might draw more power than the charger can supply and you'll see the battery losing charge as you're gaming instead of staying steady. I've seen this only mentionned twice, but I'd rather you know so you can be on the lookout for that. If it doesn't happen to you then sweet

You only mention the heat & loud noise issue briefly at 8:47 but it's a big priority for many people (being fanless is a big selling point of MacBooks). Hope Framework fixes this issue

I mean, you're literally blocking the vents, what's there to fix other than where you're using the laptop? It's not as pronounced of an issue with MacBook Pros since their intakes are side-mounted and there's an auxiliary one in the middle of the hinge area but even those will run hotter on your bed

I use the Framework 13 AMD as my current daily driver & was using the Intel variant prior to that. I'm pretty content with this laptop!

Thanks for talking about blender. I really hope they will make a snapdragon with LPCAMM2 version now 😅

I picked up one fairly recently to use as a bed computer. I was previously using a lenovo legion 5 17in. I saw the B stock DIY units on sale with the 1165G7 for 500usd and just couldn't say no. I already had the rest of the parts lying around so I thought, why not? I mean, they may call it B stock, but the thing was like new. I don't notice any issues with the screen in nightly use. I have the original glossy screen and I feel it gets dark enough at night. I'm with you on the battery life, and it's probably slightly worse for me as I have the original 55Wh battery. But I don't really use it on the go where I don't have ready access to power, and considering I can power the thing with my phone charger? No big. I'm pretty happy with my purchase. I doubt I'll need to upgrade it anytime soon, as I mostly use it to watch videos and read before passing out, and I need very little power for that. But I'll certainly be tempted when the new Ryzen chips hit eventually. I'd love to see it get an oculink port in the future, along with the usb4/thunderbolt. I expect there will be an oculink adapter for the 16in model, but it would be nice to see the 13 get something like that as well.

Can you be a little specific about the battery life? Also, if you hate Windoze, several Linux distro's are supported by Framework.

How have you experienced durability? My screen broke due to some error with them installingg the screen. Any damages over these 7 months?
@BrandonGeorge21
@BrandonGeorge21 4 месяца назад
Sorry to hear that. I hope framework replaced it at no cost for you. I dropped a metal clap on the back cover of the screen not too long ago and I was quite surprised the screen survived, given the thin back cover. But no I've not had any breakages or issues with it since I've had it, especially when I forget its in my bag.

@@BrandonGeorge21 yes they reluctantly did as they thought I caused the damage. But they were awesome and sent me a replacement. Thanks for the response!

which macbook charger does it work with this laptop?
@BrandonGeorge21
@BrandonGeorge21 2 месяца назад
I would say any usb c macbook charger, I've got a 65w one as I don't think the framework would accept any more than that.

Youve gone Battey!! 🫢😆 5:45 Sorry but of poking fun. Great video and i appreciate your attention to details about obs etc. I had a batch 2 pre order for the fw16 but i cant justify the step down in performance from my rig which I'd have to sell to afford the fw. I'm pivoting to keep the rig forever and get the 13 soon enough. As you mention, the AMD version can edit video and i think its reasonable enough for a quite portable workstation.

🤣😂🤣Thanks for pointing that out, happens all the time. 🤦‍♂ probably should spend more time on the edit next time. I really like what framework is doing but for me I could never replace a good rig.
