This video goes with the ACTUAL meaning and reason behind this song. I hate that they deleted this one and made a new one.. I'm glad I'm still able to find the original though 😅
I think that the video is like a metaphor of inner turmoil and someone trying to level out the good and the bad. But the bad seems to be winning, and no one can see what's wrong but life goes on.
I remember when this was the only video I watched over and over then boom it was gone and till this day no one believes me when I say this video exist lol
Adam Cicciarelli NO it wasn't for the money because I know them, it's not my place to say why, jus no it wasn't that's . Their final show Nashville was fucking amazing
Didn't know this existed. Casual fan. Much much much prefer this version. It's real, there is meaning to it, it's raw. Shame on the renarration that unfolded with the replacement clickbait video.
both videos are good in their own right but the second one in better. but funny how it seems the nurse at 1:10 looks like the preacher in the other video...they are pretty bad ass in concert too
actually this one is. this was the first official video from when they FIRST released Hear Me Now. Guitarist Tim Huskinson was still with them when they made this video.
Yeah I've now seen this video and the newer one. Honestly I don't understand this version of the video. But based on comments it seems the song is about struggling between good and evil within yourself. However this video almost makes it seem like the whole band went to a place because they had powers only for the singer to wake up confirming it was a dream. The chess board could be a metaphor for the game of good vs evil. Now I've seen comments that also say the newer version doesn't fit as well which I heavily heavily disagree with. Firstly the very first lyrics say "I swear to you and God we've been down this road before" so the video having a Christian theme makes sense. And again....if the song is about the struggle of good and evil um hello.... knowledge of good and evil tree in the garden of Eden? Again makes more sense. The preacher being the epitome of "christians" and yet still struggling with sexual sin IS a battle of good and evil. Then the line "my bodies on the floor and I'm calling out to you/ can you help me now" could be a call to one's self or a call out to God for help. Again fitting the religious theme. Just my two cents.
