Framing Nailer, What is the Best For Your Project?
Hitachi Features
=============
• Unique Air Drive System - Compressed air is used to drive each nail increasing power, performance and driving speed
• Lower running costs: - No Gas cells required. Purchasing nails without gas cells are approximately 50% cheaper - No regular cleaning of a combustion chamber is required significantly reducing the cost of servicing and downtime - Fewer parts to manage results in easier maintenance
• Dual function trigger for Sequential and contact mode with operation control panel
• Dry-fire lockout mechanism prevents the nailer from being activated when there is a very low level of nails in the magazine
• Integrated Hook for added convenience
• Safer and more comfortable to use on any job site than Gas combustion models

Wow...even after a few years it looks the same but mine just has a different name on it. I did an unboxing of the Metabo NR83A5 and will be doing a review of it after we finish our current shed project. Loves these guns, wish I would have swapped over sooner!

I had to confirm Bostitch was the right stuff since the instructions did specify their own brand for some reason. So thanks for THAT demonstration too.

I had a hitachi paper collated nailer I used at work and absolutely loved it, worked like a charm but then I discovered bostitch, bough an old one at a pawn shop and then proceeded to buy two brand new framing nailers at Lowe’s. That is another undeniably amazing framing nailer if you’re looking for one to get any job done!

teco nailer is a godsend. before getting a teco nailer, nailing off straps was the most pain in the ass job (all framers know this). now, with a positive placement nailer, it's cake. pop pop pop, 20 nails in the time it takes to drive one by hand. i actually like nailing straps, now that i've got the proper tool

Great gun, but I prefer my Paslode gas nailers. I have two...a framer and a finisher, and love both. No air compressor to have to lug around, no worry about where to find an outlet for the compressor, no batteries to run out of juice, no stumbling over air hoses, AND good service life on both. I've had the framer for 18-19 years and other than cleaning it 2-3 times I've not even had to do maintenance. There are only two negatives: First, they ARE a bit heavy. 15 years ago, when I was using it daily, it didn't bother me. Now, retired at 62 and using it sporadically as a homeowner, I feel the weight after a few hours. That just means its break time...LOL. Second, the batteries like to work. If you let them sit much (like a homeowner type would, like I am now), in or out of a charger, they die, and Paslode thinks their batteries are made of gold...$45.00 each. Fortunately, if you aren't anal about the battery having "Paslode" on the side of it, a search on Amazon for "paslode nailer battery" will find you a PAIR of brand new ones for $22.00, shipping included for Amazon Prime members. Those Hitachis are good, but my Paslodes are better!...hehehe.

The bump fire or trigger fire selection option is not a new feature and hasn't been for awhile. The method for alternating between the pump fire or trigger fire is different on the new ones but your old gun has that exact same feature it's just a different switch.

I upgraded mine a few years ago my Hitachi old model to a new model, and the nail holder magazine is very much upgraded to my old one, which by the way my old one looks just like your new one, and old one both have the old style magazines.I was always getting nail jams and those old style magazines but the new ones are great, however I noticed this video came out in 2018 so what gives?

As he states the Nr 83 is the best one on the market. Ask your tool repair man. I have an almost new 93 that is leaking around the top cylinder head. He said the 93 that shoots the larger dia nails has a lot of repairs and more frequent repairs. The larger dia nails that some of the Civil engineers spec for earthquake framing splits more wood. When building schools in Calif. we had to predrill 1/8 holes before using the "teco" guns.

I got a Senco framing nail gun years ago because I heard they were good. I used it to build my garage and still have it. I'm going to be building a house this next year or two, depending on how long it takes me, should I be ok with this gun or should I get something new? I know enough about building houses to get this done just don't know much about the tools of the trade because I'm not in the trade anymore.

nail depth adjustment. some inspectors will not pass shear wall s if the nails are set too deep. one of my old guns has an depth adjustment carriage bolt on the nose. one of the newer ones has the thumb screw adjustment, not the welded add on for the carriage bolt.

I just came across your Channel and watched a couple videos I really find you knowledgeable and educated in construction I'm hoping you can help me I've never purchased a decent job site compressor I'm looking for electric and 15 amps or less. If possible something that can run 2 framing nailers or 2 Roofing guns at a moderate pace does something like this exist or am I asking too much thank you for any help you can provide me... all I have found that on paper sound good is the Makita mac5200, the rolair vt25big, in the 4.5 gallon DeWalt d55146

what brand of nails do you find to work best in the a3. I use the grip rite from home depot and they dont feed correctly sometimes. For my hitachi 7/16 stapler, i have to use hitachi brand staples or else it will not feed. Locally, i have not found any other brand that will work with my stapler.

Nair gun freeze up. When building in freezing weather you need a moisture separator on your compressor. We used to keep one nail gun and hose in an old cooler with a 500 W work light and have to swap them out every 15 minutes. NO moisture separator.
