Bill could have Fran on every single week, and it would never get boring. Love listening to whatever they discuss.

One of the few guests that doesn’t let Bill dominate the conversation.

Fran was the politest guest on this show that I have seen. So many of Bill's guests speak over him and he speaks over them, creating an unpleasant hearing situation for me. Fran allowed Bill to finish his sentences and he allowed her. Very pleasant to watch. Lastly, she is worth listening to.

I loved this interview because Fran doesn't let Bill interrupt. Finally!

Yep. This was amazing. They had disagreements but man, Fran definitely cracks Bill up! Her delivery has always been so unique and Bill genuinely finds her interesting and wants to pick her brain…Fran is a legend and its on full display here folks. They weave in and out of serious topics but with a sense of humor which is a classic concoction of “you either get it or you dont.” For Fran & Bill fans, this is a real treat! The real super bowl!

I miss her weekly writing since she retired. She’s always been there for all of my sixty years and she influenced my thought process very early on. I was reading her work in The Village Voice before I got out of elementary school.

I home schooled my kids. They knew things they should have, learned beyond the requirements, and accumulated life skills as well. Everyday tasks were some kind of lesson. Ie: math/budgeting /healthy eating choices, while shopping. Home school is producing more intelligence than any indoctrination station can.

Bill ... the University of Phoenix has online courses that teach how to focus on the other person in conversation. How to listen without rudely interrupting, how not to fidget with your stuff etc. to at least show real or even feigned interest. The courses are reasonably priced. (You're welcome!)

Maher really enjoys Lebowitz as I've never seen him do with any other guest. I believe it's totally sincere and the best thing about him. The fact that he continues to interrupt her only shows how much she excites him intellectually.

Fran is one of the most interesting guests a talk show host can have. Intelligent, humorous, sarcastic & never boring. When alive Joan Didion & Truman Capote were also both interesting. With the demise of people like Joan, Truman, Andy Warhol & William Burroughs, you'd want a Fran Lebowitz at your party.

She runs circles around him. Fran is lightyears smarter and you can see that she’s treating him relatively gently - Because she’s classier than he is, too. This is why she masterfully dodges or course-corrects areas in which he’s either patently incorrect, or simply being a bully about. Bill is so cringe, from his distasteful “Nazi-children” attempt at humor to outdated sexism (“There are no women who like The Godfather.” What?! Lol.) and poorly constructed arguments. I mean the flag isn’t even hanging correctly on the wall, honestly. 😂 Fran shared the joke about the child identifying herself as woman as a lighthearted anecdote about how children are treated differently these days and are therefore more arrogant. Bill, however, used it as an opportunity to put his sexism on full display: Women are affirming their girls’ sexuality?! How “insane”!! He and Fran interpreted the incident differently. And then of course he went on a vague, poorly founded political rant. He’s like That One Guy at uni who thought he was well-read because he’d read Jack Kerouac, and then convinced everyone else too simply because he was loud enough about it. Overall, watched it for Fran who is one of the most brilliant minds of our time and is not to be missed.

I'm encouraged to see her still so energetic, sharp and youthful. Here's to many more years of her acerbic, wonderful presence on the planet.

I've had the privilege to talk with Fran and I can tell you she is always on. So intelligent and funny and, this may surprise some though I don't know why, nice. She could tell I was a little nervous and kept coaxing the conversation. By far the highlight of my life.

I'm a right leaning person and I find Fran to be a fascinating person. Great show, Bill.

Fran...when the eyes go you can always listen to audio books...saved my mother in her later years and she was also a real voracious reader.

I was raised the same, and I am Gen X. As a child, I would be quickly escorted out of the room if the adults were talking. A look was all it took to stop me dead in my tracks. I LOVE Ms. Lebowitz! I've always thought running into her on the street would be so awesome. I think this is my Favorite episode.

This is one of the best episodes thus far, I like when Fran challenges Bill. I suspect he does too!

Fran always AMAZING

Back in the 1980s, I was 9 years old and I told my grandmother smoking was bad for her. She told me children should be seen and not heard. She was dead a year later from cancer at age 57. Some adults are just uncomfortable with children having more common sense than they do.

Fran has such a unique brilliant classy style. It is so refreshing to get a peak into her mind.

As someone who is just about to be an adult Fran’s argument is precisely the reason I only have adult friends. I can’t stand that people my age don’t care. It’s like nothing that happened in the past is relevant to them. But I don’t think they realize what is happening in the present all happened because of the past.

NYC woman here... love CH (have all of his books, even "Missionary Position," and I'm a Catholic, and not only cried when he died, but had many people text me condolences). Also, I have seen both [sic] Godfather movies MULTIPLE times!!!

I think he’s happy he can be his dominant self it’s a mark of joy of conversation to have someone to talk with who has linguistic balls and keep you on your toes but still be funny and have fun.

All I can say is, I am grateful for Club Random. I think there is not another place to feed Real. I Love the black light and the atmosphere of just being real . Honest, relaxed, Real. Nothing else can compare. I Love You Brother and You too Fran. Great video.

This was great because Lebowitz is just as opinionated as Maher and more obstinate, so we didn't get an hour of Maher lecturing and ranting his opinions to another celeb without pushback. And because they're friends, she was comfortable on his turf.

Fran Lebowitz is the best. This is the only episode I have watched beginning to end. She should be your permanent guest!!
