we had this show in my country while i was growing up. it was massively successful, people could quote every word. i've never seen the original, but i can see now it is 1 to 1 exact copy with the exact scenes, quotes, expressions, every joke is the same. impressive

That has nothing to do with "right," what are you talking about? Fran acknowledged it was an embarrassing moment and tried to lighten up the mood... at this point they had intimacy enough in their boss/nanny relationship to make this kind of comment. He could've fired her, also. 🤷‍♂️ Maxwell could've answered "Too soon to look you in the eye, Ms. Fine" but well, he didn't. He got an indirect compliment out of the whole mishap...
