Following the reconquest of Bruges English forces under Loefwine Dane pressed their attack against Denmark conquering, with ease, the town of Antwerp. Antwerp would provide a good buffer from Danish forces to the rest of English holdings in France. With this victory King jacob and his council had options of expansions both France and Denmark were no match for English men at arms. Plans were drawn up to recover forces used in the battles against Denmark to take the French town of Rheims. Yet before this could come to pass the King, Jacob, died peacefully after a long life.
The crown then passed onto Walter the eldest son of Jacob the coronation was lavish but Walter was not concerned he had conquest on his mind. For the most part of his adult life he had been entrusted to govern the town of York but now he sort to take new lands for England and he would start with Rheims. Boarding a ship near London he travelled to join the armies outside Paris to assault the walls of Rheims but before the assault could commence the Holy Roman Empire beseiged the newly conquered territory of Antwerp. This was of little surprise to English leadership as HRE forces had been more and more moving in on the territory of Antwerp. The forces of Walter were diverted to Antwerp but the HRE forces failed in an assault before he arrived.
Down in the Tolouse region of France an army from the fortress Angers under a Captain Edward attacked a force led by the French King. English forces outnumbered French and the King was brought to heel and killed with the armies wiped out Angers taken and sacked. This would not be the end of French losses as now King Walter's army was freed to assault Rheims. With the conquest of this town the French were decimated the loss of their King their last fort and an important town. England it seems have no military rivals to match them for now...
