I find the lack of variety with france super weird. They have so many light vehicles that could be added, some that are even monstrously powerful but the snail says no.
As a Japan main, what is a gbu or guided bomb? But really though, Japan has no viable cas options. I started grinding France last month though, and I’m already at 5.3, so maybe I can finally learn how to use cas.
@@ivanbarbancon8750 And the techtree EBR with 104mm pen got rushed up to 5.3, meanwhile the Puma is still at 3.0 with more pen, about the same mobility and survivability. EBR is still better but not 2.3 BRs better.
About damn time. Gaijin thought it was finally a good idea to release a french jet at the right time, and not 9 months later when the meta moved on. Still, the Leclerc aren't exactly great, no light tanks / IFV and their helicopter is hilariously overtiered. One thing at a time, I guess ...
What shortcoming does the Jaguar have? Less ordinance? Good luck lasting long enough to use the full weapons load in a Mirage. Laser guided weapons mean you have to stay a steady course while the laser is active, making you very vulnerable.
speaking of CAS plane for France, did the étendard-4M have access to custom loadout during the last update ? if yes, it can now carry 4 AIM-9B and 2 AS-30 Nord wich is not bad at 9.0
This is imo the best CAS jet in the game right now. If you compare them to other CAS jets, it has all of the advantages but none of their disadvantages. For example, the MiG-27K is supersonic and has laser-guided missiles, but no thermals. The Harrier GR.7 has thermals, but no laser-guided missiles and is subsonic. The A-6E has the thermal pod but is subsonic and again has no laser-guided missiles. The Mirage 2000 is supersonic, has laser-guided missile, laser-guided bombs, *and* a thermal pod. On top of that, iirc it's getting buffed soon to carry at least 2-6 more GBUs.
these high tier CAS are fine imo. However they need to lower the sp for fighters to counter. I should be able to spawn a MIG 21 bis or 23MLD for cheap once i see kill feed.
The Magic2s tracking other missiles has been the bane of my existence since the update, now instead of tracking planes it tracks other missiles, flares in an other posts code, the ground. Still though the Mirage2000D is very nice in ground. Great vid as usual.
Love France the cas wasn't much to look at till they added the jaguar with pod and its limited gbus, the snebs were ok, but yea they limit cas options for alot of countries by using outdated weapons and systems, as for the missiles if u get within that 10km range fire peel off and circle at 10 to 12km depending on what your facing you're untouchable, except for the mig 29s that just stay in space spamming r27s at you. Edit for bringing up the fact that minor or outlying tech trees got their ammo nerfed hard in order to *balance* other countries so the big 3 have the best shells, if the 2a7 comes to war thunder I wouldn't be surprised if shells got buffed to 640 or more for alot of smaller countries
@@collander7766 I swot h between the 2 depending on mm if I get 10.3 I use the asl 30s if I get 11.0 I use gbus because dropping a gbu 1k on a tor or flarakrad is a little bit easier and lot less visible in the jaguar
@@jmaddy3 Yeah that's true, GBUs are really good against SPAA because they don't make a big streak in the sky. Especially if there's multiple up, even if you get one the other will probably see where the missile came from. That's why I love the Mirage 2000D, cuz it can carry both. Missiles are definitely better for some circumstances, especially low altitude. They also work against helis.
@@jmaddy3 TV-guided stuff is actually really common, you just gotta be in the right tech tree. For USA for example, pretty much every plane that's 11.0+ can carry Mavericks. And honestly no you don't want that lol, TV-guided munitions kinda suck in WT. Laser-guided stuff is way more reliable. Mavericks are really good at *not* killing the target even with a direct hit because the warhead is modeled wrong. But yeah killing helis with these missiles is so fun. They try to flare and everything lol
I was that Chi-Ha at the end of the video, my friends just told me about this capture today. Glad you wheren't smiting me viciously, good show though! As for why I was in top tier? Cash grinding with research being a bonus. I usually don't use such smol vehicles but Japan is what I was training.
I'm not mad at you or any players for using the vehicles as they're intended but I am angry that the game is designed in such a way that makes having fun as a ground player basically impossible. It is not fun to be killed over and over by things you had no hope of countering. The old game design doesn't work with modern vehicles and weapons. One could argue it didn't work very well before modern weapons and vehicles but at least ground players had a chance since it was so much harder to see and target them. With thermals and guided weapons, you really can't do anything but hope you're luckier than the next guy. If you spawn an spaa, then you should have spawned an mbt. If you spawn an mbt then you'll die to cas. If you do spawn an aircraft, you either get spawn killed or you become a spawn killer. They've made War Thunder into a zero-sum game where you can't have fun unless you're robbing someone else of it. Gaijin needs to completely overhaul ground battles and air battles so that each player can still have a fun match without being clobbered by airstrikes and spawn campers. If it means separating the vehicle types to other game modes then so be it. This isn't fun and I'm pissed that I bought high tier ground vehicles and can't enjoy using them because the gameplay is just so bleh. You're either spawn killing and raining down GBU's and AGM's or you're being spawn killed and being rained on by GBU's and AGM's. It's awful game design.
The bullying a child trope is dumb they brought their baby tanks into high tier, so the baby tanks learn the power of Fin stabilized tungsten or uranium rods.
The fact that the normal G.91 gets AGMs but the G.91Y doesn't does feel kinda weird lol. Also, I hope both of them get custom loadouts as well... I've been wanting a bombs + rockets loadout with my R3 for a long time
Screw that. If someone is silly enough to bring a BT-5 -- or whatever -- to the battlespace they're as fair game as the next guy at Top Tier. No more apologies to the peanut gallery, please.
Justin, I don't know why everyone always switching weapons to use, and i wonder why just cant use hotkeys for different weapon? I'm using 3 for GBU and 5 for air to ground missiles and that making gameplay a little easier bcz i don't need to switch every time 🤷🏻.
I like ground and air combo Videos like this because Air RB alone is boring to watch imo. But please don't decorate the Tanks with as much random crap as possible.
Uh no, the 2000-5's armament would put it straight into 12.3 territory. 6 fox 2/3 missiles with 80 km range, ECCM/IRCCM, 50G overload and datalink would absolutely ruin the meta.
@@macekeeks3085 the MICA IR is absolutely better than an R-73, with way better range, IRCCM and arguably maneouverability as well... Nah we're not ready for that yet. Before the 2000-5 I would love to see more planes in the naval line, like an F-8P, Super Étendard, even an early Rafale M-F1 would make sense, just armed with Magics
No need to with the Mirage. That rip was the first i've ever had in them. The aircraft rarely ever locks in a shallow dive, and seeing I was not going Mach while diving, it made no sense to bleed so much airspeed when exfilling.
@@JustinPlaysTV Well, it's not about picking too much speed. You'll lose less altitude, get more time to find targets and get the nose up faster. What's not to love, right?)
Hey Justin, speaking of bullying, supposedly if you lock an air-to-air target with your targetting pod and you spool up (uncage) an IR missile it will automatically try to slave the missile to that target. Do you know if that is true?
In my experience with te Harrier GR7, more smaller GBUs > less bigger GBUs. The chance of getting a double kill with the heavier bombs is much smaller than getting 2 kills with 2 lighter bombs... They're guided, after all
Cant wait for France to get the Rafale to match the mig-29 and f16. Or a cool IFV or something. the AA and couple light tanks we have just aren't enough. Top tier is literally just bread and butter playstyle MBT's
Rafale to match the mig 29 and f16 ? Are you ot your mind, the Rafale would blow them out of the water. The Mirage 2000-5 is the next step with MICAs, HMV sights and slighty better engines.
@@PrintScreen. first version of Rafale gets MICA EM, a PESA radar, an IRST, a very good radar cross section, extremely good manoeuvrability and fly by light. Getting it now is even more OP than when the F14 came out.
