France: Major Manhunt Underway After Gunmen Kill Prison Guards in Deadly Ambush
In a shocking incident, armed assailants ambushed a convoy in Normandy, resulting in the deaths of two French prison officers and seriously wounding three others. The attack occurred as the convoy was transporting a high-profile inmate named Mohamed Amra to Evreux jail following a court hearing in Rouen. This brazen assault, which took place on May 14 on the A154 motorway, enabled Amra to escape. The motorway has since been closed, and a significant law enforcement operation is underway in the northwestern region of France to secure the area and apprehend the attackers. Amra, who was under strict surveillance, had recently been sentenced for burglary and was also under investigation for a kidnapping and homicide case in Marseille, as stated by public prosecutor Laure Beccuau.
