Most of the countries buying F35 have no other choice because of their various alliances or ties w. USA. In Europe, NATO members whose plane should carry US nukes haven't the choice, even if the Pentagon describes the plane as very problematic and a nightmare for operational costs.... The choice of non US planes is evident for countries with a " more problematic relation " with USA. Top choice is Dassault's Rafale, followed by SAAB's Gripen and at last Eurofighter. French planes are combat proven, the F35 not... French aviation has proven many times to be " la crème de la crème " if not convinced ask Israël.... I'm not French but I have to point out that the French bashing observed in various sectors like aviation, missiles, submarines, surface vessels among others is disgusting. What's the purpose ??? Only industrial or make France pay his independence of view on various international problems beginning w. refusing to participate to the invasion of Iraq after presentation of false proofs of mass destruction weapons in UN assembly ???? When you see what a nightmare USA and UK have created in Australia with Aukus.... after cancelation of contract with French Naval Group, Australia who urgently needs subs to face China will have to wait between 15 and 20 years before receiving new US made subs and has now to renovate already obsolete subs.... And all this only to evince France of the market. But doing so, all nations in need of subs have tried to understand the reasons of... Result... for many the french subs are the best choice in terms of price, operating costs and delay... AUKUS is a real boost for French naval industry... thank you USA and UK !!! But Australia has now a big, big, big problem
The main European economies, UK, Germany, Italy already produce a 4.5-generation fighter, the Eurofighter, and therefore have no reason to buy the Rafale. The F-35 must be seen as a platform that will replace other types of aircraft such as the Panavia Tornado and the only modern vertical take-off fighter
@@67claudius If I understand you well... Rafale buyers are masochists ? All tests are showing the Rafale superiority, not for everything, but globally superior. It takes more than 10 years for the Rafale to be at this level and generation 5 is even more promising. If it takes more than 10 years for the F35, all actual conflicts will be behind and France (maybe w. Germans) will have the next generation plane. After the Rafale, the Gripen JAS39 seems to be an excellent choice with the future MS20 upgrade. If you read Pentagon''s comments on F35... nothing to be proud of....

Ok so as CRUX hasn’t got information from Dassault itself, here’s the challenge Dassault faces. As of today, Merignac’s assembly line can build 11,2 jets a year. Of course, that would not be enough to satisfy the french air force and navy AND the foreign customers. So by the end of year 2024 Merignac will triple its capability to 3 jets per month, 36 jets a year. But Dassault is also actively preparing the creation of overseas assembly lines in Indonesia and probably India. Plus Thales, the key manufacturer for all thing optronics, radars and so on, is building new assembly lines, specially 10 km away from my house here in Cholet, France. 1 000 employees + R&D high school/university campus. So all in all, Dassault and Thales make everything possible to satisfy their customers.
The Rafale and all its weapons are 100% french made. No need of US authorization to buy it or to use it. That is a major competitive advantage for potential buyers

International competition is a good thing, and better France benefit than Russia or China. The Rafale has an excellent reputation for performance and reliability, unlike its communist competitors. The F-35 is not a good match for most of these countries, as it's designed to operate in the US system of intermeshed information warfare, which these countries lack.
Ahh but if you believe Congressional testimony, the F-35 combat readiness seems lacking at about 30%. If so, the F-35 is a costly mistake, like the Littoral ships.

@@mikelee2213 I can do it, and I'm from France. The main reasons why many countries buy the F35 are: 1) It's politic, when you buy jets, specially large orders, the supplier has to do something for you in exchange (purchase your local products, deal about the VISAS etc...) 2 ) the F35 is an international program, multiple countries participate to the creation of this jet.The plane has been designed to be exported, since the beginning (unlike the F22). 3 ) When you already have US materials in your inventory, you are almost obliged to continue to buy from the US because otherwise they will pressure you and tell you that you will be placed at the bottom of the queue when you will want support for your material... 4 ) If you are a country that has ou want the nuclear bomb (from the US) you are OBLIGED to buy US jets to be able to carry it (this is why Germany is buying the F35)

The F4 version of the rafale can detect and track any 5th gen fighter, so considering those 5th gen jets put all their eggs in the same basket "stealth" it's a better choice to order a Rafale who can do any type of mission + is way more maneuverable than a 5th gen + can detect any plane with very small signature + is LESS expensive to operate ...

I live near Fort Worth and go to the Alliance Air Show every few years. I've seen the F-35 zooming around near Lockheed Martin's facility and it does look so cool. However, it has never been tested in any real combat other than dropping bombs on farmers and tribesmen. Based on what I've seen the past two years in Ukraine, I'd go with the Rafale. That war has shown definitively that the "expensive wunderwaffe" falls on its face in a long war vs. a peer foe. The less advanced, less expensive machine that can be produced at scale, and more easily supported is the champion the longer the war goes on.
I guess you haven't noticed how Israel has used them to fly all around S400's in Syria and attack Syrian airports at will. Well, let me point that out for you. They will NEVER be tested because no one can come close to testing them. Israel just used them to attack Iran as well,
Whatever made you conclude that the Rafale, at $135,000,000 a copy, with a very thin spares allocation due to very low production numbers would ever fit your above description? What you are describing is the Gripen which is the only jet that is really built like the old A10 was, genuinely tough and solid.
The issue with US equipment is not that they are not effective, they are really effective when they can operate in a manner they were intended to operate in. M1 tanks were not designed to operate as a lone wolf without support from infantry and other armored vehicles

@@NATObait The F-35 was even forbidden to fly near lightning (ironic as it is its nickname) because it was hazardous to the plane and pilot. The question was been addressed during the past months, supposedly they overcome the issue but its not really official yet. Plus, there are many other downsides to the F-35. For instance, not talking about the plane which still have a lot of flaws, production lines are not able to deliver the US bought airplanes this year (Lockheed Martin is the source here) and the new upgrades to take place this year till july can only be happening after the beginning of the year's 3/4 (again Lockheed Martin is the main source). "corridor" conversation is already stating the US will not be able to get the 1700 something F-35's planned, so I'd imagine the numbers to be exported will be much less than the contracted numbers. The US started all this situation by having politicians in the Senate, close minded and with lack of perspective, closing the F-22 program. That stunt cost the US 20 years of advancement in 5th gen fighters, while still being number one, they let other countries, some like China, getting closer or closing the gap between their 5th gen programmes. Plus US had to back down on dropping the ARRW hypersonic missile (the latest tested with success, they say, in Guam some weeks or couple of months ago) and scramjet research resurfaced as the US really stated they were lagging on hypersonic missiles (and I'm not talking about the ICBM) more that they wanted to happen in face of their peer foes, Russia and China. So don't be sugarcoating the US weapons industry, as Europeans are not also sugarcoating theirs; But as Mike Johnson stated, ironic statement by the way - but I didn't vote MAGA for sure -, "we have to do the right thing", and the right thing to him (he opened his eyes) is not to give more granted advances to China and Russia (by the way, Russian, which regime I hate, its outproducing in artillery shells alone the US and Western Europe combined 3 fold) and keeping the US as the major world military might, although it is already though to be the world's police when you can't even run your own country for months. Closing, how many times F-35's RAM coating have changed and failed? By twisting the arms of European countries, USA has brought the European and British military aircraft on its knees. This results in the death of the BAE-EADS Typhoon, also a very good aircraft for air superiority. But many countries, outside the direct American influence, want a real good airplane and keep their sovereignty over their defence. Hence, this is what is propelling the Dassault Rafale to repeat the economic success of the former Mirage III. Not only can the Rafale offer a reliable proven economic choice with an excellent track record, it is probably the only one that could take down the F22 and F35 in the case of a defense scenario. The final point in its favour is that is the most efficient multi-role fighter.

Frankly I think those Arab countries might be getting the better deal. The F-35 is kind of a one trick pony. Take away its Stealth capabilities and its rather subpar. The rafale is faster, has a batter climb rate, is more maneuverable, longer range, and carries more missiles. They also have a ECM package that's equivalent to a EA-18 Growler as standard. Finally the new F4 version to which all Rafales are being upgraded to is designed to counter 5th Gen Stealth fighters. The F-35 isnt bad, but its a first strike weapon. Its not designed to go toe-to-toe in a sustained Aerial battle. Thats why the USAF bought the F-15EX. The F-35 is for pinpont attacks like targetting enemy AWACs, refuelers, large bombers, or to launch pinpoint strikes on ground targets. Ultimately they are just 2 different planes with different roles.
I will say this, from strictly financial point of view getting involved in a development of a new or new generation fighter program with the gulf countries behind you would make a lot of sense.
I would say not...they're liable to give F-35 technical details to China or Russia...Arab countries or African countries shouldn't get the technology...I have nothing against Africa but we can't allow them to share American tech with Russia and China..
Rafale is an excellent option especially since it's to be upgraded AT LEAST with a new standard in late 2030 and potentially another one. So for a reasonable price you get an excellent aircraft that will work with UAVs and be maintained for the next 20 years and further that is multirole and also exist in a Marine version. You can hardly beat that offer.

let's be clear. If orders come like that (the 100 that Saudi Arabia could buy), economy of scale quick in, the French will order more and Dassault will set up another assembly line... and virtuous circle come in action: with lower prices and better production capabilities, more orders will come. Thing is, for a long time, US diplomacy has been the selling point to counter the sales of non US jets to NATO aligned countries and non aligned countries...(while Russia had a monopoly with Russian aligned countries and a share of non aligned countries). Russians goods are not so good anymore and US politic doesn't have the hegemony factor anymore (they're caught in their conflicting interests). Meanwhile, many non aligned countries that don't want the strings attached plane but still want something to counter not so friendly neighbors, turn to what seem to be the best non F35 choice. Rafale lack ONE thing the F35 has in optimal configuration: its huge passive stealth. And passive stealth is slowly being countered by better radars systems. also, the "low" operating cost of the F35 is only "true" if you consider that most of the training has to be done in simulator, not in flight, thus reducing the cost to maintain the plane after flight... and from what I did read a few times, those simulators are in fact hard to come by...
It hurts to see those Navy F35s fly around with external fuel tank... I mean, why bother with the stealth in the first place if you do that... Stealth is complicated, it's useful in some missions but you don't want to sacrifice too much for it. Plus, it's a very volatile concept because detection improves constantly, too.
@@Desi365 yeah... that's part of why I think the passive stealth craze is over rated... in in perfect configuration does it apply and even then, it limit other capabilities and even then, the passive stealth is non evolving on a plane once build. You can update the radar and jamming and whatever active "stealth" you have, but the "hull" is done once and for all and is the weak link, because detection means evolves... Then French did pass on the max passive stealth spec, but that isn't that much of a concern over time. Instead, they did work on the active stealth spec and SEEM to have reached a good result with the spectra. But, until the latest gen fighter face it other IRL and for a real fight, we wont know how they all compare (including the Russian and Chinese ones), as the latest fighters only faced gen3 or older fighter (the most balanced face to face I can think of in a "recent" history being the Greek Mirage2000 vs Turkish F16, so neither the most modern fighters nor including "exotic" (read non NATO) fighters).

The USA can’t risk selling those jet to the Middle East countries because of China and they are not as close to the USA in military security like Europe countries wise choice let France or other Europe sell their jet ; China can easily steal the f35 secret from untrustworthy Arab nations; the USA should keep the jet off those nations is the wise choice

No, but does everything the banks and insurance companies and some Military Industry tell them to do, there's where the money is. It just happens a lot of that money is "Jew".
Le prix de la maintenance et le prix de l heure de voloe du f35 est 50 000 € de l heures et le rafale est de 17 000€ de l heures le f35 est trop complexe a entretenir 😊
"Advanced American technology" - such as that which failed to intercept Iranian ballistic missiles fired at the most heavily defended place on Earth, Israel's Nevatim Air Base?
Are you kidding me? I ran humiliated itself. Israel had 99% interception rate. What did Iran's 320 missiles and cruise missiles do? Close to absolutely nothing.
Actually most of iranian balistic couldn"t even reach the Israel border some of them just fall out from sky some shoot down in the others countries allies with US or from US bases.Basically nothing reach the border with Israel.
@@IsraelMilitaryChannel The Israelis / US / UK expended between $2billion and $3billion to shoot down Iranian drones which the Iranians had disclosed the launch time, the flight direction and that they were NOT intended to cause damage or kill anyone. By sacrificing these pawns [which cost a few thousand dollars each] Iran gained comprehensive knowledge of Israeli air defence. The hypersonic missiles got through to their intended targets.
