There is an old saying. Soccer is a gentleman's sport played by hooligans and rugby is a hooligan sport played by gentlemen. Hope that answers your question about respect to the kicker.

Respect the kicker! Respect the other team! This is not soccer. Players respect the ref and the other players. The population coming to a rugby game is not the same as some other sports.

Your analysis about DuPont being an observer of the scene is quite correct. Of course it has its benefits like being more of a playMaking source. You’re getting good at this! Of course he can play fast but someone like Gibson park for Ireland is more just get the ball out as fast as possible. Also the way you talked about the two reds was spot on imo. French one was worse because it was mindless and really dangerous.

You got that call spot on. Red card for France was the most reckless tackle have seen in a while. We lost, but I am immensely impressed by my team. They never stopped fighting..

The whole match was spectacular. Highlights didn't reflect that. Brilliant french during 20 minutes then.. a big battle. Our scot's friends were dominants in 2nd half but annoyed by french flashes. And yep, Dupont sees everything in advance in addition to be a beast (huge defender, always everywhere..) France has a restrictive game this year. Many players are missing. We hope more "french flair" for the next WC.

The absences of Woki and Danty were especially felt this 6N, they're so impactful in terms of their versatility around the park. Villiere's absence was also massive, although I think Dumortier may be giving him a strong competition for that 11 jersey. I also think Jaminet's chances of regaining his starting fullback spot are now very low due to how solid Ramos has been playing recently...

Imo the ref was clearly biased to the French in the game. I thought the first red was such bs I almost stopped watching then and there. When I heard him saying he didn't think the French tackle was a red I literally did close the game and stopped watching because that was such utter dribble i actually couldn't stomach it. Only came back after my friend told me that did award a red

I don’t like to see the opposition kicker whistled by the crowd, rugby fans are a different lot compared to football fans, there is a real comradery between the two sets of fans. Sure, when your team wins, it’s great but the before, during and after the game interaction between both sets of fans can make good memories for a lifetime, you’ll remember the people you met long after you’ve forgotten the score that day. You should try and get over to see a 6 nations match one year. I’ve been travelling from Canada for 35 yrs to see Scotland play, trust me wins have been few and far between. It’s the craic between the fans that keeps me coming year after year, nothing like it in any other sport.

Respecting the kicker is a big deal. I never ever make noise when a kicker is kicking even if it's the opposition about to win. It's simply just about respect. Rugby is a gentleman's game and that culture of not respecting kickers is an American football culture and a soccer culture and personally for me it is not welcome in the sport. If you are egonna act like that then you don't belong in the rugby community

As for the respect for the kicker goes, we Romance countries are a little less polite than our British counterparts. You can hear total silence for a WAL-ENG kick, nevermind the kicker, but you can hear in your own video, the French are singing while the French kicker kicks, we just have more enthusiasm than discipline (in out game plans, too ;) )

In the southern hemisphere we boo kickers.. it's a northern thing and they constantly criticise us South Africans for booing kickers. Stormers at newlands back in the day had the loudest boos or perhaps chiefs in new Zealand with their cow bells.. I see nothing wrong with it personally

An annoying game. For sixty of the eighty minutes Scotland were the better team. One bit of thoughtless play and an unlucky sending off destroyed Scotland's chance.
