Wow this is a legendary video EDIT: Even more legendary than I thought. His utilization of the glissando ossia was way more natural than I was prepared for. Also, his voicing is so nice and pronounced (and not not neglected like most other performances). You can tell he really absorbed this piece and made it his own. I’m so shocked he hasn’t put out an album of the studies. The performances would be some of the best out there, and his interpretations are worth putting into a more permanent medium than random videos on RU-vid (no offense whatsoever; I’m grateful that these performances of his exist).
Well this is terrible. And not because he's clearly bored but why bother recording this with terrible audio? The people gushing over this is pretty disturbing. Play this mammoth of a piece for your professor like he did, and you'll get sheet music thrown at you.
Because people are free to post what they want to RU-vid (within reason). What you’re suggesting is out of reason, and you would’ve HATED RU-vid from 2006-2015 lmao. It’s so easy to be a negative nuisance. Weirder still that you discount people’s enjoyment/gratuity. Get over yourself. EDIT: “he’s clearly bored” I think it just seems like a casual performance. Jesus christ, nitpickers are so damn annoying.
@@Varooooooom the moment you decide to play on stage, and knowing that they can record you (and most likely play so that they consciously record you) it is because you know the piece well and you will not make disasters like those at the end, therefore this person has no dignity nor does he know it, screwing up like that, not only in public but for the entire internet in the world for all posterity, he has no dignity whatsoever and you even less so, conchetumare.
For those unaware Libetta played the entire set of 53 live for students and friends in one casual recital (!) some of which was captured via cell phone like this video. The pot shots are hilarious when you know what was really happening.
This must be one of the most ignorant comments I've seen about a Chopin-Godowsky performance by Libetta! Just so you know, Libetta is a much-revered expert in this repertoire with very rare and extremely high technical skills. You on the other hand are embarrassing yourself by not knowing or understanding what you are talking about.
