Genuine query: I'm not into this specific subculture but I can appreciate the skill it takes to do on vinyl. However I'm a bit confused by some of the comments and generally the culture around this art? Is it all about showboating and skill and almost not about timing? As in, everything is quite obviously quite out of time / off beat in terms of 4 to the floor. Sounds messy. Again... not arguing this isn't hard but I don't think you can compare this to other forms of DJing where the key (imo) is smoothness and dance-ability
