I was sitting here this morning looking at buying an Instinct SL, and the only reason I had to not buy it was the Auto-Safety. Thanks you for relieving me of my concerns!
Great instructional Video. I removed the "safety slider bar thingy" on my recently purchased Instinct SL. Very simple, even went to Harbor Freight and bought the roll pin set. However, I trimmed my roll pin with the safety in the forward/fire position. Don't do that, make sure you trim while in the safe position. If you don't it will catch internally on the stock, Like this dummy did.
Wow that was really easy to do. I have a Franchi Instinct L and the auto safety was real pain after cracking opening the shotgun. Your video was easy to follow!!!
Just purchased a used Instinct L 20 gauge that I plan to use for Skeet. Will be disabling the auto-safety feature per your video. Do you happen to know the diameter & length of the roll pin you used? A local shop has some smaller packages of roll pins & I want to see if there's a match to what you used. Thanks for a very useful video.
Great video!! I have struggled with my Instinct SLX in fact when using the upper barrel first the safety would engage preventing me form hitting the second target. Now I should not have that problem. Than you again Rick E.
Thanks! Only took about 10 minutes. You should have seen me shooting in my skeet league last week. Halfway through my team was yelling SAFETY! every time I was about to pull. Harbor Freight has a smaller set (4 of each pin) that's a bit cheaper.
This video gave me the confidence to give it a shot. That roll pin is very small and should fit pretty precisely with the safety on. The butt plate is 2 very small Phillips head screws. Pro tip, put a little gun oil on the shaft of your Phillips screwdriver so it turns easily against the rubber. Once that is removed, the bolt inside is a 7/16 and you can use a socket with 12" extension or a deep well socket with a 9" extension to get that out. Thanks for doing this video. It's really helping a lot of us!
What’s the torque spec for re tightning the stock nut !? Don’t want it to come loose don’t want to over tighten it also should I use thread locker ?! Thanks 😊
Hi Michael, thanks for the interesting video. I bought new Franchi Instinct L 2 days ago which has not auto safety. It looks strange for me because I have never heard before on this option. I have checked three Franchi Instinct L and SL in the shop, no one has auto safety. Sales manager assured me everything OK. Now I would like to look at the trigger mechanism but I can't dissemble stock. I unscrewed and removed the bolt from the stock, but I can't detach the stock itself. How is it correct detach the stock?
Excellent instruction sir! Thanks! Now can you tell me how to get that obnoxious ding noise from coming on in my truck when I don’t put my seat belt on?
Awesome video sir. Thank you for making that. I was honestly turned off by the auto safety feature but now am turned back onto a Franchi by this video. I do have a question though. Are you still able to slide the safety sideways to select which barrel you want to fire first? Thank you again for making this video.
Could you possibly just shorten the factory auto safety rod and reinstall it? It it was shorter it wouldn’t make the contact with the part that pushes it rearward to engage the safety
@@mecain1 the stock for a right handed gut will be slightly angled to the right . its call "cast off" . a left hand stock will be angled to the left and called "cast on "
On your rubber cushion there’s two little holes that you stick a Phillips screwdriver in and unscrew the pad. And then you use a socket with a long extension to remove the stock.
