I love that this is called "The Trioxin Theme". it's not the theme for the Tar Man, or zombies, or even the movie, it's the theme for the chemical that causes everything. The lingering threat that's ultimately responsible for all the horrors witnessed within this film. Amazing.
This is the original name and theme you can buy the soundtrack with all of this even the original name but damn if you’re not going to pay for it I found it in 2004 while overseas the it was almost 200 bucks
Sorry for that invasive ad at the beginning of the video. MoronTube has determined that the original music from Francis Haines is not Francis Haines music but some obscure band named "Nashgul" that I never ever heard before. So, there's that fake copyright claim and all the ads revenue go to these imposters. This really irritates me but there's nothing I can do unfortunately.
I've found when licensing video game music that the TITLE really matters, for sometimes stupid reasons - the only commercial release may be from another country, under a different title, etc etc. I'm sure the band you mentioned released a cover under this title, without crediting Francis Haines. You might want to reupload this (which sounds great, by the way) with a different title ("Main Titles" or just "Theme" maybe), which sucks, but just as a necessary evil...
@@therealxoc Hello. No that's not that. That band reprised the music for the intro of their album, with just named "intro" (ripped from the movie). RU-vid has a system to recognize the music (it's quite impressive actually how in a few seconds, it can recognize every tracks used in a mix I do).
Wow that really sucks and I am sure they only use mere seconds from the movies original music. Odd that the creators or original licenses of the original music score didn't claim it instead of this small band trying to make a quick buck. You did a great job on the video regardless. Definitely a work of art.
Once again you bless our ears and our souls with another brilliantly mixed version of the Trioxin Theme. Thank you so much! You are the best! Also, great job with the video!
I thought if you hit the brain you killed it.... I hit the fucking brain.... It worked in the movie.... But, wasnt the movie a lie..... He's got a point there, Burt.
When I got T.R.O.T.L.D. soundtrack album on CD, I COULD NOT BELIEVE that this track wasn’t on it?!?! …and the shortened and more well known version could have easily fit time wise
This theme is one of the best ever made in my opinion. As soon as Frank and Freddy bust open that tank and the gas leaks into the vent it's on! This theme kicks in and you know you're in for a good time.
@@mickyr171 I agree 100% on it being the best zombie movie ever! A remake wouldn't do it justice though! They'd never find a cast that could pull it off as well as the original guys.
@Amaco I won't even bother watching them. The original is good enough for me. Kinda like A Nightmare on Elm Street. The first is the only one I love. 3 is decent, but it's not the original and it's nowhere near as good in my opinion.
I went by myself to see this as a teenager back in '85, after seeing the trailer at another movie, Was not disappointed. I love this theme, it's pure 80's synthesiser nostalgia.
You were lucky that they let you in. I remember having wanted to go to see "Universal Soldier" back then, I was 15 and 10 months and the movie was forbidden under 16... and they refused to let me in... 🙄
@@GillesNuytens Hi Giles, wow that is strict. I guess they're more slack here Down Under, I also saw An American Werewolf in London when I was 9 with my best friends who were just teenagers. I was never the same again😂😂 BTW, I love your extended version of the Trioxin Mix
@@hwd7 I saw that movie too, I can't remember the age but it was around the same age (on tv or video), maybe a little more and yes it gave me nightmares for a long time too, one of the scariest film I saw back then, if not the film that scared me the most in my life.
theme always is bone chilling the first time i saw this movie was on TNT's Monsters Vision hosted by Joe Bob Briggs back in the late 90's I was around 12-13 years old it became one of my favorites among the zombie genre.
I have always loved this theme. One of the greatest synthesizer themes ever, and this one just lets one know that they are in for a wild ride before their eventual doom.
Seriously, this song is a masterpiece of creatively and pure horror. I encourage those who appreciate the trioxin 245 theme...check out the all the remixes and alternate versions of this score.
@@jeffreywuorio8776 Then we get tarman from ROTLD Rave to the Grave and he is just standing along the road waiting for a ride. They def went way more comedy than I would have expected from the first one.
I assume this was reconstructed from the 5.1 stems? Absolutely gorgeous stitching and cleaning of the audio.👏🧟♀️🧟♂️ Such a shame the original masters are lost but of all the versions I’ve ever heard this is probably the best work. Kudos!
I listened to it 3 times im so haaaappy!!! There somethings I haven't heard was in there!! Wow so detailed!! You are so awesome Gilles!!! Thank you thank you thank you!
Some of the music was hidden behind the SFX and dialogues. And even, there are 2 small segments still missing, but not much interesting. I've sent the video to Francis Haines, who knows, maybe I'll get a reply!
Some of the best horror movie music of all time and you did a great job here. Holy shit...I am blown the fuck away by this track. I can hear the dialogue from the movie in my head listening to this. There is just something about that synthesized horror music from the 80s. Seriously...🤘🤘 AMAZING WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 😭😭
The fact that you are absolutely doomed no matter what you do is horrifying. From what I've already seen, if you burn the zombies, all it does is release the Trioxin from them somewhere - which will inevitably lead to more people getting infected, and the infected persons have to face the pain of slowly decomposing, hungering for brains to hope to dull the pain for just a bit longer - and the fact that you, too, will soon suffer their same fate... dying by their hands. You, and everyone else, must suffer the fate of being reanimated into a shambling, walking corpse, not able to die even after getting a screwdriver shoved in your head or riddled with bullets. Pain. Truly something Satan himself would be doing to people in hell right now, theoretically. An inescapable thing that kills you immediately upon entering your system, and then revives you shortly after. You may feel fine and human for awhile, but it won't be long before you too start decomposing and hunger for brains to sate your desire to stop the pain... o! I don't think of anything worse! You, forced to be stuck in a rotting corpse, able to feel all the pain, even to the decomposition - instead of being able to pass on. Truly a terrible fate. And not to mention, being forced to kill your fellow man for those precious, precious brains...
If they kill you, that's it. You're dead. Biting doesn't transmit anything. Any people who were bitten and came back did so because they were soaking in puddles of water filled with the Trixoin. That's why Suicide remained a corpse throughout. He was killed in the nice, dry basement.
Truly an epic theme song. Love this movie. Use to always rent this back in the day at the rental store. Vhs Friday night and pizza so many memories such a classic movie and soundtrack on point!!!! Plus this gave us TARMAN. MORE BRAINS!
nice job with this....your probably the only one who notices anything off because you spent so much time listening to it while editing but this is a great job! it was worth your efforts
Saw this movie on AMC years ago and it truly terrified me, a zombie film to genuinely frighten me. It's one of my favorites especially the more cartoon like sequel, I absolutely love it. ❤️

Bro this is completely awesome. I’ve been working on a metal rendition of this theme and hearing this complete version definitely gets the ideas flowing! You’ve done an incredible job here and a great service to this movie! Cheers
Soooooooo goooood! Thought it was impossible to top your 4:19 version. You’ve done it. Outstanding work! Thank you so much! One can never have too much 80s nostalgia.
When I hired this flm on VHS, all those years ago, I tape recorded this extract as it played when the body was burned. I loved it then and still do. Thanks for this.
Do you like video essays on your favorite horror movies? If you do, look up a video call something like "ROTLD - more horrifying than you thought (theory)". It's about 5-6 min long. You'd appreciate it.
@@SpotOnArm I'll check it out, I might have seen it. Is that the one where they talk about the cold-blooden from-the-bed execution of the ending despite all the protagonist's suffering? Because yes, after all that a lazy general incites the literal apocalypse. Funny AF but dark AF too.
@@darthkek1953 No, that sounds like something else. Type in what I put between the quotation marks. That video's theory explains how our hapless group of punks and Uneeda employees hearts are rudely awakened with the overwhelming fear. It's a very good short video essay. The script was written by someone with good theory story articulation. You'd might want to browse the comment section down below too.
Did you ever see the 1990 version of "Night of the Living Dead?" Omg if not...you need to, I promise you won't be disappointed!!! Tom Savini is incredible!
A Labour of Love from you Gilles. I know how immersed one gets when REALY having a Passion for a project. And the result speaks for itself. Great Zombie Theme and a classic, made even better by your hard and determined Work. If i ever come across some "lost" release version, i will let you know. But you did your hard work and the track/mix justice. Love It 😇🤗
Saw this film like 4 or 5 years ago and it instantly became my favorite zombie flick of all time (Helps that I became a metalhead around that time.) I could write an essay as why I love this film but I'll be brief. Its got my favorite style of dark horror comedy that many films struggle to blend well. Plus the indestructable zombies was something I'd never heard of before and It left me scared at the thought of coming across these guys during an apocalypse and the methods we think will work failing to do anything against the hoards. The gore and practical effects are also top notch. The film is now one I try to bring up whenever I get the chance. Parts 2 & 3 were pretty terrible tho; Part 2 being a needless retread of the first film just with more comedy and worse effects, and 5 being poorly written yet thankfully more original which I liked.
@@GillesNuytens So to create your tracks you need the original and SSQ is only on yT. DAMNED! Although the version on YT isn't bad, it has enough material to edit? And if it doesn't work, no matter, you already give us enough awesome sounds.
@@morphingroundz2394 No, the song has been released, it's on the official album released in 1985. But to make good and interesting extended cuts of songs, I usually prefer to have th instrumental version of them to mix them up together. But only rare songs have it available, usually when they're on a 12" single.
@@GillesNuytens That's a problem, why does everything have to be so damn complicated. The only thing I can think of starts with Disc and ends with ogs. I took a look and found: SSQ - Tonight (We'll Make Love Until We Die) / Trash's Theme Vinyl, 7", 45 RPM, Single. But this is all going too far, man. It's nice that we can talk to you about it, that's really rare.
@@morphingroundz2394 I wish they would automatically all release the instrumentals of their songs but that's too much asking. Thi said, I'm listening to Trash's Theme and it sounds very similar, maybe it's sort of some instrumental version of it.
Hello. Not in my plans for the moment, sorry. This kind of restoration from the movies are very energy & time consuming, when it is do-able (most of the time it's not). This one here took me a whole week of work.
@@GillesNuytens You did a great job. Truly one great soundtrack for one awesome 80's horror classic. Send it as a Demo to Glen Glen sound in California. My Aunt took me on a tour there. They do sound mixing. Maybe they will give you an internship. They do alot of sound mixing for the movies and TV
@@jeffreyz8030 Thank you. But well, I'm not at all a sound engineer. Just a guy with artistic skills trying his hands at a sound software he knew nothing about 3 years ago.
Deep Silver studios has aquired the rights to the unfinished Return Of The Living Dead video game. I played the demo when it was on Steam before The original developers went bankrupt and it was amazing. You even get to use the freezer rifles from the third one . The coolest part was that they made Trash one of the Bosses. She can control other zombies with her scream, kind of like the screamers in Dead Island 2.
Freddy: Stupid A@@HOLE!!! Frank: Watch your tongue, boy, if you like this job! Freddy : Like this job? Well I LOVE this cover....best one I've heard. Most of them remove the trumpet/horn instruments but they're a huge part of the excellence of this theme. Thanks for making them prominent!
@@brianconner3222 Agreed!!! I don't like the 2nd as much as the 1st and 3rd Return of the Living Dead movies but briging back James Karen and Thom Mathews in 2 to repeat those lines was comic gold. 🤣
I want to know what was going through Francis Haines mind when he wrote this and how he put the notes together and how he chose which instrument to use where and when, but sadly I'm never going to be able to get an answer to those questions.
Absolutely well-done man!!! I thank you!!! What can I say for this music piece!!! Although the composition you have made touch perfection until 07:48 (or at 08:10), furthermore needs better synthesis or it has to end there ...with all respects!!! This movie still scares the shit out of me!!! Fear, terror, tension, agony!!! Besides the comedy part with deathrock-punk attitude, the scenario is absolutely terrifying!!! I could write my fearsome story on this movie, but I'll do it some other time!!!
