Senza fare comparazioni con altri tenori ma il nostro bel Franco Corelli è Andrea Chenier. Voce coinvolgente. Timbro unico. Trasmette ogni sua emozione. Che altro se non unito ad una presenza scenica senza contrasti da alcuno. Il miglio tenore mai esistito. ❤❤❤❤

Una delle opere più belle!!!!!! E una voce che sembra uscita dal sole che tutto riscalda e ristora. Ogni volta che l'ascolto sempre le stesse intense emozioni!!!!!!!! Dove l'amore è permeato di eroico virilismo grazie a questa immensa voce. Tutto passa ma la sua voce resterà per l'eternità. Grazie grande magnifico FRANCO per la tua arte e per la tua nascosta timideza che ti rendeva ancor più bello e sublime....

Franco absolutely owns this role. This opera was the first time I heard Franco Corelli, some 5 years ago and I have been listening to him ever since. I sincerely hope he is never forgotten and younger generations will discover this wonderful tenor.🤗

I happened to get lucky one day while in NYC and saw Renata Tebaldi with Franco in Chenier. It was glorious. The audience simply wouldn't let them off the stage. Applause went on and on and the stage was covered with flowers.When the two of them walked up the stairs to their doom it was chilling and I'll never forget it. It was then I became a devoted fan of Corelli's.

The best Chenier: the divine Franco Corelli. Nobody sings this scene with so much ardore as Corelli. There is no tenor who could compete with him in any of his roles.

Quando all'Opera i cantanti erano cantanti, qui assistiamo alla sublime interpretazione di Chenier per definizione, non credo ci sia stata e ci sarà una voce più potente, squillante, eroica di sta di Franco Corelli, per estensione, potenza, colore, timbro, semplicemente unica!!

as a relatively new to opera listener, i remember this broadcast. and i remember the audience's insanely enthusiastic carrying on during it, and especially at the final curtain calls. years later i heard most of this fantastic performance here on youtube, and it was wonderful to realize that YES, IT WAS THAT GREAT. the final duet used to be on the tube but has disappeared. how i would love to hear that again. yes, there is the vienna from 1960, but the met in 1966 was, i believe, even more exciting.

Corelli and Del Monaco are more suited for the role of Chenier..don t forget that Gigli,heaven voice, is a Liryc tenor....for this opera we need a spinto/dramatic tenor

@@guidogreco341 Not getting into a dispute about lyric , spinto and dramatic tenors, or who is the best Chénier, but Gigli's singing is powerful in his 1941 recording of the opera.
