Imagine you're making a record and you need a drummer. This guy comes in, listens to your song once, and records a perfect drum track in one take... Unreal.

When you're wearing Sketchers everything is in your comfort zone.

This guy comes in looking like my dads bowling partner, sketchers and all, lays down a perfectly acceptable track without ever hearing the song or being familiar with the genre. Respect!

He's from Brooklyn. He plays the drums. He wears sketches. He's a legend

Dude was so good he made me reconsider my feelings toward Skechers.

I am not a musician nor a drummer by any means. But I truly love this series. I have a better appreciation the genius that Frank has to dissect a song like this and put his own spin on it. Great video!!

This guy is THE definition of a professional drummer. Coherent and repeated parts written on the spot with amazing fills and improvisation. Dude is amazing!

In my early 20s I was a singer/songwriter and recorded about 20 songs that had Frank Bellucci on the drums. He came to my producer's studio in Dix Hills, Long Island - listened to each song once and knocked out an amazing drum track for each song like it was nothing. An incredible musician, so cool to see him on here!

He said 40 years of experience and it shows. That was a brilliant interpretation! Very fun and creative! He’s moved to my favorite of this series.

Frank's work on the toms in particular elevated the music. This whole deal of letting elite drummers create something is just excellent.

Speaking as someone who ADORES the original, this is incredible. Like holy hell what an interpretation. The swing on the toms is so cool. Such a different vibe but it fits perfectly.

This is a fucking masterpiece. His accents and change of moods fits this song so well. How he builds on the verses by later adding the tom hits, the chorus kick accents the vocal runs perfectly. He actually adds the break on the last verse to add more effect than constantly doing it. The toms on DOITBABY make it feel like a dance hit, which makes that vocal line so much more fun. A Halloween Day miracle.

This is just proof that those "no name" guys that have just slugged through the music industry somehow for decades in that weird non record studio artist realm are the true talents. undiscovered gems

I’ve been playing 20 years. These guys are nuts to do this. The kid who played Deep Purple is my favorite so far. But this guy (and of course Portnoy) are close seconds. And this dude is left-handed, and has his hi-hat and ride reversed. 👍

As a professional drummer I can say that this is as good as it gets. This is what you get for laying down the hours and practising hard, devoting yourself to the craft and the business. Not only does he perform with attitude, confidence and presence, but he's also able to write perfectly understandable notes with efficiency, so that he can focus entirely on the painting of the canvas and orchestrating the coordination. This is a hard working musician. Technical? Indeed, those preparations were needed for this, but the energy and presence comes through experience of working in the field and playing all sort of contexts, developing listening skills. He's not playing for the cameras, he is focused on the task and locking in with the music. It's evident that he has played a large variety of styles, as he is also perfectly adaptable and can make several musical variations in such narrow turns. This was a perfectly executed first take and could have been the actual take in the studio session for the track, well done Sir! Now, I got to hear your ballads.

Drums are the soul of this type of music, and watching a master create a new soul from nothing is incredible. I love Dragula, and I love Frank's art.

Honestly, that was a fantastic drum track. 10/10 and completely great. Never heard of Frank before today, but damn if he doesn't have some absolutely killer instincts. The genre of "Drumeo brings non-rock drummer to create new drum track for rock and metal song" may not be a big genre, but by golly it is a great genre.

My father knew him because he invited him to perform at a day of percussion at Buffalo State College, which was a killer set. And my father also listens to Rob Zombie. I sent this to him. He loved it.

I was fortunate to have a private lesson with Frank in NY back around 2009. He warmly welcomed me into his home and proceeded to give me 2 plus hours of instruction on hand and foot techniques, how to prepare for any gig, and generally how to be a professional musician. I was in college at the time and tried to absorb everything he said like a sponge. The man is an absolute class act, and a professional in the truest sense of the word. Thanks so much Frank! Swing on brother!

I am so impressed by Mr. Bellucci's version. When I first listened to the original song I thought "the drum is so iconic, this song can't work any other way". And now I love this version.

I LOVE when they have these guys who were session musicians in and they absolutely nail the first take. That's what they had to do to make a living and they know if they didn't play it right immediately, they would just call someone who could.

One thing I love about this series is it shows how much the drums change the song fundamentally. Frank's version is more musical, more atmospheric, where John's original track was more bombastic and driving. Love it.

His fills were just sublime. Loved the toms. I love how he intuitively left space in the mix for all the heavy stuff and didn’t feel the need to be in your face.
