Blonde is one of those albums which is a body of art rather than a load of singles shoved into one release, which is what too much rap tends to be these days. Unfortunately that is what makes so hard for you guys to react to individual songs from it. My favourite album of all time!
Chilt Thruya I don’t know what trash rappers you are listening to but all the rappers I bump focus on their albums just as much ... from j Cole kendrick and jay z to JID mickjenkins and goldlink.. listen to more than migos and lil uzi before you talk
@@Damascene749 Get off your f*cking high horse. I listen to all the artist you mentioned and most of them always have 1 or 2 tracks that they know might be a hit and also stop acting like the Migos and Uzi are the same just because of a sound if you listen to Uzi's albums and you have a little knowledge about him you'd know that most his albums are thematic but he makes it subtle.
“I'm just a guy I'm not a god Sometimes I feel like I'm a god but I'm not a god If I was I don't know which heaven would have me momma” frank ocean - futura free
You guys described it pretty much the same way I was impacted by Frank Oceans music. There is plenty of depth to his music so much so that there is a good podcast called dissect that breaks down the whole album. Anyways I really enjoyed this reaction because it reminded me of how I felt when I first listened to him. Cheers
I listen to this song so many times all day. This music is music that may change fate in my life.(저는 이 노래를 하루 종일 너무 많이 들어요. 이 음악은 내 인생의 운명을 바꿀 수 있는 음악이다.)
this was acc nice to watch, just thought I should mention a fun fact init cos i love frank. The beat in the instrumental mimics a heart monitor which is pretty sick & that drop after the heart monitor stops is the halfway point of the whole record, then it gets into more mellow going into the second half
This is the first song I ever heard by him and at first I didn’t really fuck w it, I thought it was weird too just think these guys initially. But it was a song I just kept coming back to, and eventually fell in love just like the album. There are some things you just have to listen to things a few times
This is a song for me that I listened to over and over again for over a year and it wasn’t until I did shrooms that I understood it and it really twisted my mind. “All my night” instead of “All my life” was so fucking meaningful to me.
Blonde is definitely one that needs to be consumed as a whole body of work. It's very stripped down, a lot more experimental for him. It needs a few listens from start to finish to understand. I'd recommend you react to Pyramids - probably one of his most popular, and one you can "get" the brilliance of right away. Surprised people were suggesting Nights over Pyramids, because while Nights is the Pyramids of Blonde (lol...) it definitely takes a lot more work.
It's crazy how you guys can nail Frank Ocean on the head when you were talking about having to open up the "box" of frank ocean. That's exactly what he is, gives you just enough to keep wanting to unravel more about him and the music.
This is the first ever time I commented on one of your videos, because I waited for you to react to Frank Ocean. I like all of the music you react to, but he is BY FAR my favorite artist. The thing about him is that he doesn't do any PR, he rarely performs live and he disappears for years after releasing an album, but he's so good that he doesn't need all of that to get him to the top. I also really recognised myself in your reaction as I too had to grow on his music and only started falling in love with it after 5 to 10 listens. I know this is not the channel to do so but u should listen to his whole album eventually. And as for trying to figure out what his music means, I stopped trying very quickly myself and just let myself enjoy the ''vibe'', iykwim. In some way it's like Nirvana, as in that it is not always meant to be understood for the audience, because it is his just him putting his ideas and thoughts into lyrics. Songs I would recommend are Monks, Bad Religion, White Ferrari and Ivy. Loving the content and keep up the good work!
Listen to Dissect Podcast... right now they're studying the entirety of Blond(e). AT LEAST watch the episode for Nights cause it's incredible Love you guys... so happy you finally reacted to my favorite artist
“Idk when this came out but he was definitely inspired by Juice WRLD and Trippie Redd” nah bitch THEY were inspired by Frank, he’s a legend in the making
TOKEN - PATTY CAKE. Fuckign amazing up and coming dude who refuses to do any collabs with anyone and truly doesnt give a shit. You will LOVE him for sureee
Probably check out she by Tyler, the creator ft frank ocean it is one of Tyler’s best songs and really shows off Frank’s talent too so a very good combination of what you guys already like from Tyler and some frank mixed in
The second half of the song starts at 3:30, which means that it splits exactly at the 30-minute mark of the 60-minute album, splitting Blonde into two.
Definitely would like to see you guys do Strawberry Swing and American Wedding from his project Nostalgia, Ultra due to the samples then go into stuff from his album Channel Orange and then more from Blond. But also a quick google to see who Frank is and maybe a sub series on Odd Future at a later date pls
you HAVE to do more Frank Ocean guys Chanel Ivy Self control Thinkin Bout You Solo Forrest Gump I think he's easily one of the best and most accomplished artists of his generation, almost everything he puts out is stellar
Frank has produced for Travis before. Also he's been out waayyyy before trippie and juice. He has has own unique sound... I would put him more in the category with Tyler.
if you guys wanna listen to some more amazing songs then listen to: Great Day- MF Doom Vomitspit- MF Doom Peach Scone- Hobo Johnson Romeo and Juliette- Hobo Johnson Pink + White- Frank Ocean Perfect- Tyler the Creator & Kali Uchis
Thinkin bout you, Lost and Pyramids by Frank Ocean please! His best songs in my opinion, his album Channel Orange is just a masterpiece. Great reaction, keep it up!!
Prally cuz Metalheads and Rock fans have a greater appreciation for all facets of a song. Instruments, vocals, lyrics and how it all fits well together. As opposed, to r&b/rap fans that mostly focus on the artist than the music. Probably cuz they don't produce they're own music. On the other hand, producers of rap songs have great appreciation and analysis of songs.
@@monkeydben7360 I'm a progressive rock fan. I reckon people who listen to more lirically and musically "complex" songs are more appreciative of the quality of a good song. However, no one can deny that the vast majority of them are elitists who will call almost every song out of their gender of choice "not music, just noise" and they undervalue songs and artists as a whole because it's not what they like. They're for some reason proud of what they listen to and feel smart about it, as if they were the ones who wrote the music. Even your comment shows a tad of that (though barely), now that I look at it closely.
Nostalgia Ultra = Indie Pop/R&B Channel Orange = Neo-Soul/R&B Blonde & Endless = Avant-Garde Maybe the last term sounds pretentious to y’all, but i do believe those last projects are very different than your typical R&B sound. The combination of Indie Rock, Art Pop, Psychedelic music, etc... it is some futuristic stuff.
