@King Alejandro i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site on google and I'm trying it out atm. Takes a while so I will reply here later with my results.
I love the modern architecture in Palm Springs! Just went there last week for modernism week and found the most colorful modern houses, vlog in my channel 🎦🌴
I had family who built a house this style in the early 60's. As a young child I really appreciated the design and details. It was a wonderful place overlooking the Pacific.
I recently had a chance to actually spend some lovely afternoons in a home very similar to this in new York state. The property had many beautiful flowers TREES lawns and ponds . The wildlife was abundant. I believe it was built late fifties. Early sixties . No swimming pool through. Great place to meditate on nature
I can just see Joan Crawford swimming in the pool with Steve Cochran in The Damned Don't Cry. So glad to see if looks very much as it did in the movie in 1950.
More historic Victorian homes were destroyed due to the foolish modernism craze than any other trend. I’m happy his home is still there in original condition, but modernism as a trend was a poison to historic preservation. Half of San Francisco’s historic buildings were leveled in the 1960s and nobody paid a price for that.
He owned this so long ago....40s.. and he dropped in here, hardly lived here I was told..Such hype..geeze..this is a corporate rental.. .. Eva and kids stayed here mostly. Frank had several homes...mainly his huge compound in Las Palmas neighborhood was his real "home".
Good architecture & home design-- but too bad where not in the post-war era: the 50's when Hope & Sinatra were still alive.. although the 60's & even the 70's weren't bad either.. today everything CA has become a museum...
The piano is an inexpensive Yamaha player piano which is very much out of tune, most likely placed there by the current owners of the home. I'm sure that the executors of Frank's estate either kept his original grand piano or sold it to the highest bidder.
jennifer86010 Frank had long moved out of this house by the time of his death in '98. He only lived here a few years from 1947 when he had it built to 1957 (I have also herd he left in 1953). The furnishings of this house have been chosen by the current owners to match closely to the period the home was built. Only a few items, like the recording equipment are original to the house. Frank livedfor many years at a larger estate in nearby Rancho Mirage where many of his possessions, including pianos remained after it was sold not long before his death.
Love the look of that estate! But little do people know that Palm Springs, the name, is pretty deceptive. The place feels like a desert-three digit temperatures are the norm. Don’t know how anyone could live there. And the name Palm Springs suggests quite the ideal place. Palm Desert is nearby town; the name says it all for the entire area.
If I bought that property the first thing I'd do is cut down those annoying useless twin palms , then change the name of the Estate to Eagle's Nest Estate
I'm interested in mid century modern architecture not celebrity trivia can anyone point me to a video or channel like that? All I ever seen to find on RU-vid is pretentious bullshit.
Yuck ! I love how all the strange and hideous design elements that were the 1950's have been glossed over and called mid-century modern. Does that include orange & green carpeting and dark brown wanes coating ? When the most noticeable feature of your expensive landscaping is unwashed cement, you know you have a bad-looking, unimaginative home. Looks like a really nice fallout shelter.
This home reminded me of the brady bunch! no taste only a hard fanatic of Sinatra could say this is master piece! then again Frank never did have good taste in architecture, and good things in life, he was like the old Italian mafia cosanostra all flashy with no substance and no real taste. I buy homes fix it and sell it, I my self would not paid more then 1,000,000 and the reason I put that prize is for the size of the property not for the house, then again I'm in Florida I don't live in the west coast, with all ya liberals.
