It's a clash between hardcore punk and folk punk and the understanding that we all have our problems to bare regardless of whether we express it aggressively or passively.
Saw the thumbnail and legitimately thought: “fuckinhell- Frank Turner’s let himself go...” After a few seconds, “oh, Mike’s looking good at the moment”
As a longtime nofx fan, this gives me chills and the older me loves this! Younger me would have looked at it like an abomination, but with age comes wisdom so this song is tops!
@@seancadieu5400 Yeah, I saw a vid where Frank is playing a show and goads Mike up on stage to sing Linoleum. However, he played that closer to the original tempo than this. Nothing wrong with it, js.
The whole band dressed like frank turner with Mike lip syncing turners cover of Bob. Hefe walking around with a shovel and making love to a sax while a harmonica solo plays, Melvin in a shirt. Smelly playing a snare drum in a tree. I love it
Listenig to Frank it's always good, but watching NOFX in this clothes while u listen to Frank singing a NOFX song which talks about excess it's kinda hilarious
I remember standing next to Frank in a club in Peterborough, watchin million deads support band, talking to him about favourite bands, we had a mutual love of NOFX, 15 years later, this. Fucking amazing.
I’m 41 and loved NOFX in high school. I memorized all the lyrics to white trash two herbs and a bean, punk in drublic and so king and thanks for all the shoes. I have a 3 year old son. I used to sing him to sleep when he was a baby. Most of the time I would sing NOFX songs slowly. They all work and sound cool slow. Gave me an even greater appreciation for the band’s writing. My favorite band ever.
Fat Mike is a hell of a songwriter. I do not like the original song (I never liked the old NOFX, for me the first good NOFX album is the So Long and Thanks For All The Shoes) but this version really showed me how good this song is.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 imagine McCartney taking a big watery shit on stage and kicking and sloshing it into the crowd and mccartney picking fights with people in the pit
He spent fifteen years getting loaded Fifteen years 'till his liver exploded Now what's Bob gonna do now that he can't drink? The doctor said, "What you been thinkin' 'bout?" Bob said, "That's the point, I won't think about nothing Now I gotta do something else," "To pass the time." he has someone shaved his head He got a new identity Sixty-two holed air cushioned boots And a girl who rides a scooter to take him out, of town They would get away Riding around, as the trucks drive by You could here the mother fuckers go... A couple of lines, an extra thermos of Joe He'll be kickin' in heads at the punk rock show, yeah Bob's the kinda guy who knows just what Bob's the kinda guy who knows just what to do When the doctor tells him to "Quit your drinkin', now's the time." Will he ever walk the line To all my friends, I feel just fine But will he ever walk the line Kickin' ass and bustin' heads Red suspenders Once a day he shaves his head But will he ever walk the line? Will he ever walk the line? Will he ever walk the line? Will he ever walk the line? Oh will he ever walk the line?
According to RU-vid's auto-generated captions, Bob isn't the subject of this classic song, it is now about "Paul." EDIT: During the second verse it suddenly changed to "God." Auto captions are funny...
This is excellent and great cover. Last time I saw NOFX Frank and Mike sung Linoleum together. Also at the end I thought Sandin and Melvin were changing places with Erik stripping off. It works for me and I give it punktastic 5/5.
Can anyone explain this song to me.. ? is it a cover, is it an original, whos voice is the singer ? sorry for my lack of knowing. im a 41 yr old dude. i used to be die hard fat wreck chords from age 17 to 20. I saw NUFAN.Good Riddance. Strung Out. and Propaghandi . oh and of course.... Lagwagon!! skate board to Lakewood High School.... listening to punk on my portable CD player.
Is it my mind fucking with me, or is Frank receiving a WhatsApp message at 0:58? Only me listening this sound? Everytime I was listening to this song I had to check my phone, always at the same part of the song, but nobody was sending me a shit... After 5 or 6 times I realized it wasn't my phone :D IDK maybe I'm losing it finally... but if I'm right, it'd be funny that they missed a WhatsApp notification in the middle of a song recording... so fucking modern subliminal Acoustic/Punk shit :)
Yea, I'm gonna need a Linoleum version of this, Eat the Meek, Soul Doubt, pretty much everything on the Greatest hits album. Fuggit, throw in Mattersville, and that how'd the cat get so fat song. Yea...Yea
That is not jefe! Are there two bands??? What's going on? It looks like fat Mike, it doesn't look like fat Mike. I don't know what's real anymore. Melvin wearing a shirt?? Smelly singing?? Me and my brother both watched this totally confused. But hey rock on
You guys are fucking old now. But you will always rock. Never get tired of hearing your music. Feeling down play Nofx. Feeling good play Nofx. Your dad died? Play Nofx.

I dislike it totally. I prefer the original Bob or even better the Rancid Cover of it. The video sucks and this acoustic cover as well. I like just to see fat Mike on video. 2stars for the product 5 for Mike
This is fucking me up I'm confused. Is this nofx in a video for a song that's a cover of their song but this isn't actually them signing right? Punkception hurt brain
So somehow this worked its way into my playlist time to stop what I was doing and go look at the phone to see what this was...Now I know who Frank Turner is.I'm turned and I can't stop listening thanks NOFX thanks Fat Mike.
