Frank is such a good teacher for listening and exposing you to good drummers. Vinnie and Bozzio in particular were so huge for me. I still can't play this though! @@filipburneski
In other amateur drum cover videos, the 19/8 verse is more straightforward: two 4/4s and a 3/8. It sounds to me like you're locking in with the bass, and dividing the beat into 2s and 3s like Bulgarian dance music. But I don't play drums, so I don't know which approach is correct.
In the second thought lies the wisdom, I'm not in Vinnie's head to know, but in my opinion he is thinking just that when he is playing the groove in the track. That's my answer. All the best to you friend! :)
