I’m a huge Beatle fan and I’m the first one to say, when someone like Frank Zappa says The Beatles “were ok”, it’s a huge compliment.

Very interesting man to listen to. Articulate, sensible, cogent and does not rely on the verbal crutches people usually lean on. No expletives or ums and ahs, and instant memory recall. Answers the questions directly, without fudging, dodging the issue or trying to cange the subject. And all with a wry smile. Altogether, the most impressive rock star interview I've heard in many a year.

Now I know why Zappa fans are Zappa fans. This cat was genius and I never even gave him a chance.

Frank had a negative experience with Lennon after working with him, John took a live recording they did together, put it on an album and didn’t get Frank credit despite the song/jam being Frank’s.

Please Please Me, With The Beatles, A Hard Day's Night, and Beatles For Sale are all great albums, if at least far, far better than what else was around at the time. I think calling the "world's first boy band" is a little hyperbolic and reductive. The Beatles still wrote and performed their own songs, 'boy bands' do not. Not to mention, they were formed by each other wanting to play music, as opposed to by a record label, which is often the case with ‘boy bands’.

I may not agree with ALL of Frank's views and opinions on certain topics, but he is very entertaining to listen to. He cuts right through any bullshit, and speaks his mind.

Surely this should be called "Found Interview"

Although I’m a massive Beatles fan I do respect the views and opinions from Frank, who was probably the most famous anti-Beatles critic. Would be boring if everyone loved the Beatles.

Zappa said the Beatles were ok because he had a feud with John Lennon. It's like saying Bach wasn't bad, it won't be taken seriously by people who know and study music. Of course, if he meant "to my taste they were ok", that's another thing, personal taste doesn't always have to do with quality.

The more I get into Zappa, the more I find myself liking the Stones better than Beatles. They're both great though. Once you really get into Zappa it almost becomes hard to tolerate other popular music

I saw Frank on a particularly inspired night back in the 80's, the PA sounded flawless and Frank was BLAZING that night with brilliance: He was THE best lead guitarist that night I've EVER heard. And I've heard many. RIP, master guitarist.

Saw Zappa live on his Joe's Garage Tour at the Providence Civic Center 5/2/1980. Will always cherish that memory!

I always feel that after Mr. Zappa spoke in an interview, there really wasn't anything else to say. He expressed his ideas so completely and concisely and articulately.

As a Southern Californian, it's really cool to hear Frank mention all the cities and areas of the Southland which served as the backdrop to his career as a groundbreaking artist. It's awesome.

Even though Frank Zappa dislikes a lot of what i like in music i highly respect and appreciate Frank Zappa for being the smartest classiest douchebag and asshole. Most douchebags i hate. Frank Zappa is one of the few douchebags and assholes i actually love. Wish he could have lived many years longer than he did. America needs a lot more people like Frank Zappa today.

Frank Zappa was without a doubt the most interesting and one of the most intelligent people of all time.Ilove watching his interviews. If he would have ran for president of the United Stated he would have got my vote and im sure he would made a great president, but im Canadian so I cant vote. But Frank is too honest and that would be his downfall.Love ya Frank R.I.P.
