Frank was in the cone head skit on SNL , he played Connie’s date , and Connie’s name is dropped in the song , so I think it’s just an inspiration from that experience

For you younger viewers The Coneheads were an SNL sketch and when Frank hosted he was in a Coneheads episode as Connie's rock star boyfriend. The Frank SNL episode has been scrubbed from shows history and Frank was banned for life from the show. The SNL people look at Frank the same way they look at Steven Seagal lol. Consume Mass Quanities! Lol.

@@paulfenwick8767 The band performed Dancin Fool and The Slime on the episode. It wasn't that bad but Frank had to do things his way and as usual pissed off the powers that be and earned a permanent ban from SNL

@@chazblitz Actually, Slime was from the performance when he was only the musical guest where Candace Bergen hosted. That and Peaches en Regalia. In the Oct. '78 episode, he opened with Dancing Fool, later did The Meek Shall Inherit Nothing and Rollo (from Yellow Snow Suite) with John Belushi as the Samurai Be-Bop musician. The acting really wasn't great. Interestingly, he played himself in every skit. His acting really wasn't great, like his turn as Mario Fuentes on Miami Vice, and even his cohosts on MTV when he did. Not an actor by any stretch of the word. Lorne Michaels banned him for pointing out that he's reading from cue cards and generally mugging too much and not trying to play it seriously, comedy show that it is.

The musical segue from Charlie/Downers into Conehead is just an add-on storyline of one of Charlie's persistently stupid and depressed friends turning to TV, and the Coneheads are on. It almost hurts to remember that, because I've never really cared for these deliberately dumb PSA lyrics. Oh, but for that guitar solo, I'll listen to it.

@Royale with Cheese What's meant is, the song content does not belong. Society Pages on down to Any Downers tells a story of rich people, who just end up drug addicted and dead like the rest of us. In the end, you end up planting yourself in solitude with the TV as the next mind numbing drug. It could have been a song about Jeopardy. It didn't matter because the song leaves the story.

@@mgordon1100 I'll give you that, but Frank needed a place to put a song with such great lyrics as, "When she's on her knees, the point is so high, I keep saying please keep it out of my eye" someplace... and the preceding song says watching TV, so there's that.

next month, Society pages 4th reaction, toilet break version. You can see Zappa taking a shit and the zealots can talk about the genius of it all 🤣😂😆. I actually really like this and the album but have the capacity not to need constant Zappa replays. Some on here talk about Frank's genius but those same people seem so limited. Having touched just a small part of Zappa's work, seems small minded to need replays. Guess that sums some up on here though. I feel sorry for the non Zappa fans and lower tier patrons who can't get their stuff played but have to suffer constant Zappa repeats. Guess the demographic of the patrons allows bullyboy tactics like this. Thanks Dan and Sifa, you can only react to what's put in front of you.

"You Are What You Is" was released in '81, two years after "Joe's Garage". All four sides run together and cover a few themes. If you can find it, do listen to each side as one piece for maximum enjoyment.
