Fuck yeah. People always think I’m strange when I say I’d rather lose my sight than my hearing but it’s not even a contest for me. I’d be an empty shell without my tunes
Always liked this song. Remember Dad having the vinyl album back when I was a kid in the 80's. Late 90's, Mum, Dad & sister had a shop and that was called Zoot Allures. Great concert from start to finish.
To continually throughout his career, put these types of this level band. Writing this type this level music. Playing these solos. Yeesh. I watched him thru the decades just amaze audience after audience. Never a second rate player never off nite . From motorhead to ensemble modern. Incredible.
99.9% sure I was at this show. Some friends and I pulled the trigger on tickets at the last minute and raced in to the city and damn we were glad we did. One of a few wonderful experiences hearing Frank and crew doing what only they can do. Remembering it today as I'm preparing to see Dweezil tomorrow for the second time on his current tour, equally virtuosic and fun and inspiring.
I was at this show as a kid with my dad! Listen to Zappa even to this day. Have a original press Zoot allures vinyl too. Fantastic music. Thx for the upload 👍
I saw Frank back in the 70s in St. Paul, Mn. At the civic center. What a show they put on. To this day I still say it was the best concert of my life and no one has ever top it yet. Rest In Peace Frank, you are forever missed and thanks for the memories.
@@ale6723I got you man, I was in Indianapolis IN, back in Frank's heyday--.I was blessed to have seen many, many great bands-- but never anytime as far as I know, did The Mothers ever play in my 🏡 hometown 😢 My buddy in high school and I saw Black Sabbath, right bef. Ozzy left bec. of his drug problems-🌈 Rainbow, Grateful Dead, Yes, The Beach Boys, REO, Cheap Trick Linda Ronstadt Tom Petty!!
I was lucky enough to see Frank TWICE! Once was at The Olympic in downtown L. A., with my lifelong pal Jerry, and the other time was at Santa Barbara’s Arlington Theatre with a number of people from my FM Rock station. 2 different shows, several years apart - and both KILLER!
First time seeing Frank Zappa... 16/17-ish at my local youth centre and all I see is Zoot Allures at a screening of Does Humor Belong in Music at my local.youth centre He starts playing the solo.and I immediately realize I know nothing
Today,.. - This and also friendly Otterfish songular (tuneular) selections of the Spiny Spunktwat variety - feed the sand, air and disturbed flying notes assunder. what.
I was disappointed with this album which I bought for a friend when it came out. All the great songs that cried out for a guitar solo - 'Torture', 'Zoot' etc didn't have one. Its only the live shows and bootlegs that really bring it to life. Maybe there was some contractual sh*t going down for the original release ?
Hello,am from Germany(57)and i have a quastion. What mean`s Zappa with the word "zoot" I know what allures are but the translation of zoot is very confused. In German lanuage the translation are:Anzug mit wattierten Schultern und eng zulaufender Hose! WTH does Zappa means with this name? Maybe you will call it sharp dressed ore something like that. In my younger years i was a huge Zappa fan and drugs user,i know Zappa don´t use drugs, but his music was made for users. He was a genius, period!! He use a lott of slang words,we don`t know here in Germany.Even Americans dont know what he mean. Please can you help me out, what Zappa mean with this name.
"THE GROUP THAT DOES EVERYTHING WRONG"...
