@@AHPOutdoors Further more, he's pretty much hinted that he'll be playing live with the band again during their final tour next year before the band officially splits. I cannot wait!
My favorite drumming recorded on Sum 41 albums with Frank Zummo is featured on both 13 Voices and Order in Decline. They're both solid albums and the drumming is a big reason among many others as to why.
Let me spread the hate. Is not enough that the Blink 182 and Sum 41 plays and sounds similar... The drummers have to look similar. Music industry at it's best. Guy looks like he was produced in the same factory as the Travis Baker...
I love smart drummers... you wouldn't typically think it looking at most of the successful musicians but this dude is smart. I can see him thinking and seeing the sheet music in his head while he's describing what he's doing. Fascinating skill to hone. Glad you're around, Sum41 got me through countless tough times and thankfully more better times!
Brandon is absolutely killing it with all these unreal video spotlights, guests, lessons & videos. I think he’s really captured the true spirit of camaraderie that not only comes from the alternative scene of drumming, but drumming as a whole. There’s never been a better time to play drums or want to play drums!
As a guitarist, there's nothing more satisfying than a drummer that is good at what he does. I have had riffs and how they feel completely change with the emphasis of the drummer.
I have to say that I really enjoy this style of video where you let a drummer geek out on their own tunes, but I kinda wish you would travel with an E-kit or something so we aren't hearing them play on practice kits when they go over the parts.
Frank is an Animal of a drummer. first came across him when he depped for Gary Numan in USA. Been hoping he would feature on Drumeo at some point. hopefully you will get him in for more. very nice guy.
I love all forms of guitar music now, but sum41 was my key to unlocking that door when I was a kid, always remains important to my heart and have never tired of listening to them. Bummed they’ve decided to disband, but I thank them for the past 25 years 🤘🤘.
When I did my covers of a few of these sum 41 songs.. I took elements from Steve’s original parts for most of them but sprinkled in a few fills and choice chops from frank.. especially in the hell song using different cymbals.. a nice ode to the two drummers of my favorite band of all time..
Sum41 is and will remains my favorite band ever. I litterally learned playing the drums to their songs. I love Stevo drum parts, I played countless hours on these. He inspired me so much. I love Franck's drum parts. The new ones but also those from Stevo that he changed for them to be more like his style. He inspired me so much too, I even bought a double pedal to play more like his style! I felt something when I heard they would be disbanding next year... Fortunately, I have tickets for their last scene in Europe, in Paris! Thank you drumeo for reminding me so much drum moments of my life!
Very good drummer but... I still prefer Steveo. Different vibes I guess, and founding members will always have their DNA in the band they helped build whereas new ones have to adapt, sort of.
Don’t get me wrong I love Sum 41. And Steve split his ways with the band not so good. And Frank is a really good drummer. But talk about drum parts of old songs? No. It’s just not right🤷🏻♂️
I remember watching Sum 41 in Portugal in a festival called in 2003 , at that same day Placebo played also and were the band everyone was looking to watch , but in reality it was rubbish . Fortunately Sum 41 they played and everyone was blowing their minds as it was a very well know band at the time , great memory from that festival mostly watching Sum 41
@@TC-lk2ev placebo on that night was a disaster , Brian voice was just no there the performance was a disaster , it was one of my favourite bands at the time and it was so disappointing, this was in 2002 Paredes de Coura festival . The public was really desapointed was like they didn't want to be there ! In other hand Sum 41 in the end of the festival they were the nost commented along side with Rita Marley with her band and p.J Harvey that played in the same day as Placebo andcreally enjoyed. This was in 2003 in Portugal , Paredes de Coura Festival
I got to see Sum 41 in Seattle earlier this month. They've been my favorite band since the first time I heard the All Killer No Filler album as a kid. It was my first and last time seeing them live, and out of all of the shows I've been to, Sum 41 put on THE best show I've ever been to. Thank you to Sum 41 for all of the years of music that helped me get through life.
Yay! Thank you Drummeo!! I totally want to learn to play drums like this... Not sure it's possible. But it will be fun to try with y'all by my side. 🙏🙏
Sick video though. I have Zildjian L80s and a Tama TrueTouch (Similar to the DW Practice Pad Kit). I love that the pros like Frank and Travis use what I use for low volume jamming!
Steve Jocz, misspelled in this video, does NOT get enough credit for being the one who came up with all of the beats to those songs bc that was the backbone of their hits. Frank is good, but it’s one thing to be able to learn beats and another to be able to make the right beat. Steve made sure all their hits had the perfect beat for their style and sounded good too.
I’ve always been under the impression it had something todo with Dereks hospitalisation, he said people he believed to be his closest friends wasn’t there for him, and this coincided with 32’s departure………I could be wrong of course.
