What a bizarre adaptation. Elizabeth is a boss while in the movie the creature killed her effortlessly and even gets a happy ending having him live in the north pole with his girlfriend.
2:32 LOL So Victor Frankenstein wasn't just an alchemist/scientist who sinned against God and nature 'coz reasons: he was also a martial artist capable of going toe-to-toe with his own creation. And here I thought Jonathan Harker was overpowered.
Ah nice burn, but still more entertaining to watch than I Frankenstein which is in the same universe as Underworld. And more laughable than the Victor Frankenstein movie with James Mcavoy as Victor and Daniel Radcliffe as Igor creating their Prometheus with double organs and multiple muscles and everything else.
They should do a movie based on this game. Imagine the Creature walking around with boxing gloves and shorts on, that would be one heck of a spoof (De Niro played Jake LaMotta in "Raging Bull" after all).
@AT Productions minus all the kung fu fighting and stuff, obviously. But, frankly, what CAN’T be enhanced with the help of kung fu ? I tell you, man, it’s obvious Mary Shelley planned the Creature to fight Victor in midair, kicking each other’s crotch and all... but the technology was not there at the early 1800s. Good thing Sega CD devs fixed that for her. Now her rotted corpse can be proud. (I should really stop watching early days RedLetterMedia stuff, I think it is eating away at my sanity. Too bad I’m loving it too much.)
Jokes aside, the sequence of Elizabeth getting killed, the Creature caressing her body, and Victor taking her to bring her back... is probably the best animation I've seen in a Sega CD game.
I do remember that incredible scene where the Creature returned to Victor to beg for companionship. When Victor refused the Creature roared, "WE MUST KUNG-FU FIGHT!" Victor full of fright replying, "So be it!"
Holy shit, this is amazing ! :D I haven't laughed like this in quite some time !) And the fact that there is a person out there who is actually an expert in this game is just *stunning* to me !)
Really? A normal Dog is a boss? That's one of the most hilarious things I've ever seen in a game. Sure, Cerberus and other dogs are bosses but seeing with my own two eyeballs of a regular dog as a boss is the funniest shit that I've ever seen. xD EDIT: This is also one of the most hilarious games that I've seen in a few months. The fighting and character animations have me in tears. EDIT 2: The fighting animation is what made me tear up but the overworld animation of the creature is really well done! I like what they did with it.
I don't know why I couldn't stop laughing watching this. A Frankenstein fighting game? Really? I love it! Seeing you beat these obscure video games is why I'm subscribed.
Oh yeah, I remember when reading the book where the monster says to the sailors he regret the murders he comitted and pretend to commit suicide... Then he proceeded to kung fu fight with them.
i can't man, this is too much... they look all serious saying all these old timey lines that are probably accurate to the book, just to start SLAPPING EACHOTHER IN THE FACE right after
I could be wrong, but I think this might be based off of a specific frankenstein movie I've seen for my college literature class. The metal chamber that the creature emerged from makes me think so. Clearly, they added a bunch of things that were neither in the book or said movie.
Bro, you most professional player i have ever seen you never get hit in any video's Wish you Good luck for more games keep going man you deserve my sub and like
Wow... As a SEGA CD owner for nearly 3 decades, I've never heard of this game. It seems to be one of the rare few to do more with the extended capabilities of the SEGA CD other than FMV and CD music. I bet the graphics and animation wouldn't fit on a $50 cartridge.
I have a mega Cd and love love love licenced games. Sadly eBay has just made buying older games too expensive. Thanks to your channel i can relax with a dram in hand and watch the game without the expense.
There's actually 14 bosses not 13 as you can also fight the soldiers again in the Return To Ingolstadt scenario. Unlike the 1st time where they can just keep coming back the 2nd time 1 of them can disappear after the fight as there's now 3 of them but if you fight another there will still be 2 left as those ones keep coming back.
Ah so Frankenstein is where the idea of The Creature comes from. As a kid I liked the game called The suffering and the protagonist can change into a monster called The Creature (its purely in his head though). I should read the novel...
When you only see the bosses this looks just like a fighting game - which makes it even more funny!. - The full game is pretty strange in its entirety however.
God I miss so-bad-it's-good movie tie-in games. Baguette-Wielding Landlord for Smash 6 or we riot. The sheer randomness of who you fight reminds me of the "Kortal Mombat" sequences of Animutation. Ever wanted to see Colin Mochrie beat the crap out of Alex Trebek (RIP)? And if you can believe it, this is not, in fact, the most utterly WTF classic literature-based fighting game - check out the Les Mis one sometime. ROBOT VALJEAN!
The fight music is kinda underwhelming. It's like Twisted Metal: Head On and one of the two tracks for its Paris stage, called Bon Voyage; a chilled out rock song. Doesn't exactly fit the backdrop of cars with machine guns and the like competing in a lethal demo derby worldwide. Edit: The music for the Elizabeth fight definitely fits better. Edit 2: the first part of the music for the sailor fights and the final bout with Victor doesn't fit well, but once it gets to the second half, it starts to fit far better. Shame the fight's done before the music gets good.
