A heartwarming tale about a boy and his dog. After unexpectedly losing his beloved dog Sparky, young Victor harnesses the power of science to bring his best friend back to life?with just a few minor adjustments. He tries to hide his home-sewn creation, but when Sparky gets out, Victor?s fellow students, teachers and the entire town all learn that getting a new ?leash on life? can be monstrous.
A stop-motion animated film, 'Frankenweenie' will be filmed in black and white and rendered in 3D, which will elevate the classic style to a whole new experience.
Look for the flick in theatres on October 5th, 2012.

yeah just like in real old movies because even though its black and white there still that tone that tells you what color it is

Omg I thought this was computer animated with any color at all. It’s feels just like a 1950s movie where it’s black and white on camera but in real life its color

It would have been interesting if they made a stop-motion movie with only black, white and grey characters, objects and buildings, but were filming it with a color camera.

I’m guessing all they did was completely lower and drain the saturation. If this is true then they should have an unreleased version with color.

It's stop motion not animation. One seen can take a week or more to do, they have to move the characters ever so slightly, one wrong move can fuck up the scene.

It's kind of creepy to know that the bully in this movie will eventually be turned into the Frankenstein monster by Victor.

I laughed and cried a lot while watching this movie. It´s a beautiful story and great artwork. A hommage to the old horror movies and I also like all the elements from Tim Burtons other works. The suburb reminded me of Edward Scissorhands, the windmill gave strong Sleepy Hollow vibes and Victor himself looked like the young version of Victor van Dort from Corpse Bride. It´s like one big universe.
