Frankfurt Sachsenhausen Germany in 4K 

Miss this place. Spent many drunken nights in Alt Sachsenhausen while stationed there for 3 years. 99-01. Mainly remember the 2 Irish pubs, an African bar, and an Australian bar. Finishing the night with a Doner Kebab! Mmmmm!

I just made a post on FB about the first time I had a Snake Bite.....it was at the Anglo where I hung out quite a bit when I was stationed in Germany back in the 80's. Sachsenhausen and Germany hold some GREAT memories for me.

I was stationed in Mainz in 1988-90, and loved that area. Tons to do, lots of great walking, and stuff to see. I miss it so...

3:47 This building was known as "The Four Stories" and was a very popular hangout for American GIs back in the late 80s and early 90s. I can't believe I found a video with this place in it. We met Dave Murray and Bruce Dickinson of Iron Maiden on the "Fourth Floor" one weekend.

Hallo! Danke für dieses tolles Video. I am Bosnian and lived in Sachsenhausen from 92-98 auf der Garten Strasse 103. I still remember everything about it and had the opportunity to visit one time since living there. I just watched this to reminisce about my life there and loved seeing everything you showed and learned something new too!! This is great and i hope you will do more Sachsenhausen series... maybe the schools or shops or other topics about the neighborhood? I would tune in anytime 😊

Back in the late 70s i used to go to a disco called the Drop in, it went thru several name changes but everyone called it the Drop In. I had such great times there. I was very sad when my tour of duty ended.

You are so informed about the history of Frankfurt! I am extremely impressed, and having myself played music at the old Irish Pub in Sachsenhausen in 2001 four nights a week, this place has a very special place in my heart. It was such a wonderful time in my memory to entertain Germans, American servicemen and an international audience playing guitar and singing cover tunes there. I now have lifetime friends I met first at that lovely old brick pub that is now sadly gone. Thank you so very much for enlightening us all who have and have not been to this wonderful enchanted place about its little-known secrets. There was a place called Goriel Schenker right next to the old Irish Pub which also looked quite ancient, and I always wondered how old it was, as I wonder how old the Irish Pub building was. It seemed very old, and am extremely thankful the American bomber planes missed their targets on this side of the Mein river so we all can enjoy this amazing piece of Deutsch culture and history.
