I think I popped like 2 bass boxes in my RS2000 playing this song! Love it..! The ZX Spectrum, Roft Harris and his stylophone and Poll Tax Riots.... Gotta love the 80's :-)

This track (or version of it) is on the ZTT/Salvo release 'The Art Of The 12" ' the accompanying booklet ,written by Ian Peel, founder of the short lived ZTT fanzine Outside World, states that this is Pamela Stephenson. Joanna Lumley recorded it but apparently decided she didn't want it released. There is a bonus track on the Liverpool - The Deluxe CD called 'Pamela', you have to remember Pamela's Janet-Street Porter impressions, she has a tremendous range of voice/accents

Au contraire - when the 12" was released, I contacted ZTT records to enquire as to whom the narrator was on the record. I was pretty sure it was Jan Francis, and my friends and I had a pub bet on it. I won. She is thanked on one of the following releases. Pamela Stephenson had retired from performing by this time, and was training to be a psychotherapist back in her home country of Australia. I was obsessed by ZTT, and own very nearly everything they released - yes, all the remixes, too.

I did own this one and listen to it repeatedly for several months! Did't heard it for some 20+ years already!!!!!!!! Still like it so much, but I feel my 12" sound much better, as I remember!!!

Depends which version. Most are the 12 minute version with the complete song at the end. This one jumps to the end at 7:31

The other thing you should remember about ZTT is that a lot of their information is a situationist prank - never take it as gospel truth! Remember all the different 12" remixes with identical catalogue numbers. That's what made them so great!
