I cannot hear this song after watching All of Us Strangers and not feel utterly ill with grief. That ending was so unbelievably tragic in the most beautiful way.
definitely, it seems to be more than a song, the sentence "i'll protect you from the hooded door, keep the vampires from your door" is at the beginning and the end of the song, is abolutely extraordinary and seems to be message, i wanna know the secret about this song!
"Love is the light scaring darkness away" I was just a teenager when for the first time I heard that line above from this beautiful song. At that time I was not able to detect what love would really entail. So, I used to consider that line to be just a poetic expedient for the song. Now, just being a man and going through plenty of adult troubles, I can grab how real that light called "love" is the main solution to scare darkness away.

Every now and again I hear this song somewhere and it breaks me down into my base components. Just undoes me piece by piece. I heard it in the supermarket today and all of my 6ft6, 300lbs, calloused hands, tattootted torso, no archetype of masculine ruggedness could keep me from shedding a tear when I came back to my car. I didn't cry when my grandmother died 2 months ago, and the beauty of this has me seeing the world through tear begoggled eyes.

Having the worst Christmas ever!!! My son died and my other children either live abroad, gone abroad or my other son doing his own thing, never felt so alone!!! This song emerged from an LP that my older brother brought home in the eighties when he was into new wave and I was looking for a reason why so much misery was on me as a teenager who felt so out of place at home... my brother would end escaping home to live with a girlfriend and I would stay alone in this emotional misery and poverty... thank god I found spirituality in music such this one that always took me away from where I was as soon as I sing it... this song was and still is like a prayer to a better place, a better being and a better world - “Make Love Your Goaaaaaaal” 🙌🏻🧘🏻♂️👏🏻❤️

Actually it is about Christmas of at least that period of the year when something (someone for some people) came to us a long time ago(really long , not 2000 years ago) and gave us the most precious gift from the entire universe(es): LOVE.And this is the reason for what we became as the human race and maybe will be our only salvation from the hooded claw and his vampires which are already among us.Not technology of advanced science but just LOVE. This song hits me to my core every time I listen to it…sadly I was not given a real opportunity to live up to its message for the greatest love of my live who was sadly taken from us all now thirty years ago…I miss him terribly even to this day, think of him most days and love him still. True love never dies…it is your god given right and greatest gift you can offer anyone.

Congratulations to you both. We just celebrated our first anniversary by going out to dinner then went back to our accommodation where my wife put on her wedding dress and we slow danced to this. (Both of us cried lol) Great song
