Just got done watching this superb Musical and in my book the best musical of all times. I cried watching the very last part of this movie because I realize the loss of Olivia Newton-John and Jeff Conway. Olivia would go on to do several other movies and also her work in cancer, She had a HEART of GOLD. Jeff Conway will be remembered for his part as Kenickie and later on as Zack Allen in Babylon 5 ( One of my favorite SCI-FI series of all times)......RIP to Olivia Newton-John and Jeff Conway.

My late wife loved this move and this song most of all. When I hear it, it makes me think years ago when we were so young. Brings a smile to my face and a tear to my eye.
Annette Charles, who portrayed Cha-Cha DiGregorio, died a few months after Jeff Conaway, who portrayed Kenickie... but I don’t think that matters much to people as she was part of the rival gang against the T-birds...
3 month after jeff died, she had brain cancer. The actor who portrayed Leo Craterface the head of the Scorpions a rival greaser gang died two, in 1994 he had hiv and died do to complications from aids, he was gay.
R I P Olivia Newton-John, This movie was the BEST thing ever that change her life and I was glad to have seen this movie when it first came out on the BIG screen.
One of the cheesiest movies ever made and all I can say is I LOVE IT! How can one not have some great summer memories conjured up while listening to Frankie Valli croon this awesome tune? The 50s/60s/70s/80s live forever through massive melodies like this one! Have a GREAT summer everybody! From Mike in Canada
The animation and singing are the best. You didn't need computers for great animation. All done by hand, cell by cell animation. Better than anything today.
It's been 40 years since this movie was in the theatres and EVERYTIME I hear this song, I do the same thing I did when I first heard it when I saw the movie (I pat my foot and nod my head to the beat) THANK YOU BARRY GIBB for your contribution.
Robert Stigwood- Beegees manager :-) and Barry Gibb can do no wrong even when he didnt write with his dearly departed brothers :-) Bless Barry Gibb for being in this worlld still, and writing this wonderful song. i always used to wonder why this was my fave grease song, then when i found out barry wrote it, it made a lot of sense :-)
There were two versions of Barry Gibb's penned song, "Grease". This version sung by Frankie Vali for the 1978 film, and the other version sung by Jessie J. for the FOX TV network's live 2016 broadcast.
Other countries watch the fever of this video and it's release and have envied United States high schools of said era since. Unstoppable and Priceless.
I feel 19 years old again listening to this song. Never saw the movie when it was released but my mother was nuts for it because the 50s was her time growing up.
Agreed, the best musical of all time. Still stands up proudly in 2017 as the day it was released. Never get sick of watching this movie. Great memories!!
Agreed. It is a timeless movie. I remember watching Grease for the first time when I was 5 years old and falling in love with it. 20 years later and I love it more than I did back then!
I have got to be the only 11 yearbold that has looked up songs from this movie as much as I have . I bascically grew up in 1970 . My mum has bombarded my mind and life with stuff from 1970 , 1980 and 1990 . GOD I LOVE THIS MOVIE ! AGH !
I agree...60,70s and 80s R&B soul is all I listen to...well almost anything from my childhood...we had the best movies and best music...long live the past, because the future does not look good for music...
Good upload..damn I miss my high school days..so many of my friends aren't even alive anymore and it seems like only yesterday we were shaving the eyebrows off new teammates and necking in the theatre and partying all summer long..and we weren't violent, moral degenerates like SOME of the greedy youth of today..
Thanks for posting this..just watched the 35th anniversary movie..cant believ its been that long..still remember being 13 and watching this in the theater...
Oh, well, of course Barry Gibb wrote this. Didn't at least one of the Bee Gees write well over half of the songs in the world? And how did I miss that all these years? No matter, I guess - great movie, great song, great all the way around. :)
The Bee Gees wrote half the great songs in the world. I can't believe three brothers are gone, including Andy Gibb. The mother only passed recently (2017)
@@davidloken869 I guess I was a bit young when Grease was in theaters. And I don't remember actively tuning for Casey's countdown until a few years later. But I sure should have figured it out earlier than I did! 🙂
When a RU-vid channel does not own the rights to the audio/video, the time is remapped. It's to avoid conflict with the original Record Label and owner of the rights.
This is the perfect opening for this movie. Ridiculous cartoons, a guy way too old to be singing for a movie about teenagers, and portraits that look nothing like the actors. It's so ironic it's perfect.
Lana Harlan Stockard Channing was the eldest being 33, the rest being in their late 20’s. Dinah Manoff and another cast member was 19 during the filming of Grease.
Born in the early 90s but glad my Mom raised me on this kind of music and my dad raised me on things like Sabbath, Beatles, Zeppelin, etc so I think I’ve got a good balance! I wish I could’ve been born in the early 60s
Unforgettable.... the song was written and back vocals by Barry Gibb , Peter Frampton on the guitar ... it is the No. 1 highest-grossing musical, to date.... Nostalgic
Amazon recently gave me a gift certificate! I ended up 'purchasing' 4 CDs on their website! One was titled 'THE DEFINITIVE FRANKIE VALLI & THE FOUR SEASONS' which has 26 songs! Reason I chose that one is I noticed that the CD included 4 Frankie solos! The #25 song is 'GREASE!' I had thought he had started out the movie with a song, listening to the song on the CD confirmed that!
Reading the brochure that came with the CD the notes on the song GREASE are interesting! Says that the movie GREASE was a box-office smash, the single GREASE topped the US charts, and the soundtrack album was No.1 for 12 weeks, quickly going multiple platinum!
