Frankie Valli points to Bob Gaudio, a Nashville native and original member of The Four Seasons, in the audience at the Ryman before kicking off "Can't Take My Eyes Off You."
you're absolutely right Alan, Bob Gaudio is a New Jersey Boy. I used to play in bands in the same area of Newark that Frankie Valli is talking about. On Mount Prospect Ave. in North Newark (the Italian section off Bloomfield Ave.). His brother played in the same area in a group named after the apartment complex that their mother lived in. "The Stephen Crane Village". it was 1967-1969. I'll never forget.
I've had my Four Seasons' greatest hits CD in my car changer and the songs that Bob Gaudio wrote and produced are even more amazing to me today. OMG, such great songwriting.
I say Franckie Valli is a gentelman; always chic , honest with his public. Great singer who is loved by so many people. I love him a lot and his voice is unforgettable
I fondly remember meeting Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons before a concert at Knott's Berry Farm when I was 25 years old. I remember being able to shake Frankie Valli's hand and remembering how gracious he and Bob Gaudio were as I spoke to them. Watching Frankie, Bob, Tommy and Bob play on stage is one of my favorite memories. I grew up listening to their awesome music.....and still love them as an adult.
@slmb_b I think he is singing here and we might actually be hearing his real voice at this time and a recording from years before the concert. During those parts you highlighted, there seemed to be a slight disparity between what may be a second vocal track. Course, this could just be the pre-recorded vocal track bouncing reflecting in the space
Wow, I was just at the Ryman a few days ago for a concert. I cannot believe Frankie Valli of the Four Seasons was there just last year, but I didn't know!
I have seen the play several times, and the movie over and over. I play the soundtrack in my car. They were so amazing. I can't get enough of the, or like I can't ever hear enough Elvis. When something is that good, it's timeless. By the way, I like Ringo the best. Nick should not have quit. Ever.
I'm in tears. Frankie's voice represents my entire childhood/adolescence. In a nutshell. I just recently saw Jersey Boys. I had NO idea to what depths the band endured. And only now do I feel like a complete *dick* for thinking, "Omgawd. They're so *old* (but Wow!) in the fall of 1975 with Who Loves You (my very favorite 4S song of all time)
he is not. stop being jealous because that's what you are how did he record a Christmas cd in 2016,explain that.did someone else pretend to be him,you nit wit!
Not lip synching.. listen to the part when he speaks in the middle of the song, no way you could get a vocal mic matched up so perfectly EQ and level wise to a recorded vocal... what he is using is subtle autotune (not needed)... I look forward to seeing him live on his farewell tour this year
I really do think he is singing. There is a slight delay when he talks too. Why would he need to lip sync, he still had to record it recently. Even if he did lip sync thiugh, at least it's a new recording, and not him back in '67 :)
True, but he's lived in Nashville the past 30 or so years. Like me, from Paramus, NJ but moved to Nashville in 1979 for college & stayed. Guess it depends on how technically you describe "native."
You lip sync phobia people try to ruin it for everyone don't you. You're probably next going to try to tell us real Frankie Valli and 4 Seasons fans that it is not really Frankie talking either.
fitzrite Hi Fitz , Frankie is using AutoTune which is an electronic voice correction device .. The Beach Boys use it too along with many new artists ..
Joseph Digilio HAVE YOU ASKED FRANKIE? NO. he isn't lip syncing or using auto tune why is it so hard to believe he is singing?? THATS FRANKIE VALLI PEOPLE.
Michael, it's recorded from the audience, not a direct feed, you are going to get a lang time in transference from video and sound...I worked in film and audio for years, the only way is in a controlled studio through the sound board and not through a amateur equipment.. when his talking there's a lang in sync...because it's done from the audience,, you get lang time in audio, hope this helps you understand...
give me a flippin break this man had to have hearing implants he was a good singer....I danced on my pici=nic table with lights in my yard and my brother and his is friends said hey little girl you can dance to this group when I was a child and gave me much love in my memories... we are all are dying... he's good.... memories all we have in the end.
