That and 'Never gonna to give you up' by Rick Astley. The II-V-III-VI chord progression is so warm and nostalgic I'm surprised so little Western pop music uses it. it's pretty much 70% of Jpop. It's so ambiguous it fits both major and minor keys you can use it for anything! Check out Baka Mitai, the meme song from Yakuza 0 for a minor key version of the same chord progression. I always love me some II-V-III-VI and i would love more english ones.
I'm here June 5th, 2024 ✋️ Who else is here? This music brings me joy! Love the positive, happy energy. I'm an 80s kid, but grew up listening to the beautiful music of my parents 60s era. Peace & love to everyone. Please spread kindness. ✌️🤗 💜
@@artnalex You're right. I went to see him in concert in '08 and couldn't believe he was still hitting those high notes. It's almost physically impossible. Then we figured out that one of the 4 backup singers was actually hitting those notes. He's still putting on the show though.
This was my parents music and I am 55. I walked in the kitchen earlier and my 13 year old daughter was cooking us dinner singing "can't take my eyes off of you" she didn't miss a single word, and it was a playlist of her own. I was sincerely touched, this music will live forever.
My middle grandaughter has Spotify playlists that are made up of all songs from the 60s. Her favorite artist is Paul Anka. She loves his ballads. She also likes the Four Seasons. She asked me once "How does his voice go so high?" My wife and I graduated High School in a small town in New Jersey in 1964. We started dating in our senior year and were married in 1968 after I finished school. We'd spend one Saturday each summer in Atlantic City before we were married. Most of the day was spent at the Steel Pier. We saw the original Four Seasons there. We still listen to their music today either on USB sticks or Sirius in our car. Those were great times.
I remember when my Dad would hear this on the radio. He'd start singing it to my Mom. I miss them both, those were the best memories of them. I'll see them again.
Benjamin Mellette Rest In Peace to them, I am sure they were great and still are, looking down at you and guiding you at every turn! I hope you have a happy and healthy life!
Born in the 50's, grew up in the 60's & 70's and Frankie Valli & the Four seasons was and still are one of my favorite artists. Can you imagine that you are performing three of your songs that are 36, 47 and 49 years old (Respectively at the time of this video) songs that are older than many people in the crowd, and you are performing to thousands of people, you turn the microphone towards the crowd and those thousands of people are singing your songs back to you, what an INCREDIBLE feeling that must be.
I'm 68 (born 56) so I was 4 when they came out in 1960 and you were 10, by 1963 my teenage brother and cousins ( all born in 48, 49, and 50) had every 45 top hit record know to mankind. We would stack as many of them on the record player as we could, hit automatic and turn it up with all the windows open and dance on the front porch. The Four Seasons were among our favorites. Being a 6 or 7 year old with teenage babysitters in the 60s was A BLAST! Glad you commented! It made remember all those fun times! I've been revisiting a bunch of the 🎶GOOD STUFF🎵 for the last couple of days! God bless!
@@liamsayles8312 I also noticed it immidiately but ACTUALLY I think it's pretty cool that he can still sing it live himself! Despite it sounding worse than without autotune I appreciate that it isn't playback! I really think thats pretty cool way for him to be able to perform at that age!
This is from 2014 I saw him in 2022 and his voice is still flawless, amazing how some singers can still sound so incredibly good at his age of 88 years old.
David Vohland But he did have a little autotune, but it doesn't matter, most of it didn't have any so.....anyway, he's 80, and he sounds pretty good for that age.
Adam Hamdy YOUR RIGHT,ANDY,JUST A LITTLE,AND YOU KNOW WHAT,HIS NORMAL TENOR VOICE IS STILL VERY MUCH INTACT.SO AUTOTUNE ONCE IN A WHILE IS OK FOR THE 81 YEARLD MUSIC ICON!
Franke is from a generation that had all class..Sinatra..Martin,,,,Sedka..I can't believe he sounds incredible..and I am so glad he is still there..here..making us smile..thanks Frankie..
Can't Take My Eyes Off You was my husband's song to me. He would sing it to me. We had 31 magical years together. He passed two years ago and I miss him more than I could ever describe. He was the best husband, father, grandfather and friend. He loved and was deeply loved.
Joseph Mellen ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-iBWoyIQ-j7Q.html That’s just one example. He recently posted a “Zoom” performance of Lets Hang On with his band. If you watch performances of Lets Hang On throughout the 2010s the vocal track is exactly the same throughout, including in his recently posted video.
Amazing performance !!!! I've got a memory when I was little boy I've heard that song from the radio didn't know who was that song's singer back then I finally know franky valli is a greatest musician !!!
How nice is it to see the Capitol Bldg shown in such a positive light? Especially after Jan 6. Today it looks like an occupied war zone but America will come back.
I look at that crowd and see SO many people singing along who weren't even alive when this music was on our radios! I hope it will always live on! Frankie still sounds wonderful!
I think the biggest thrill of watching these videos is seeing the younger generations grooving to some of the best music ever made by the original artist. AWSOME!!!
As someone in the “younger generation” (I’m 16) this music is my jam! Personally, my favorite band is The Beach Boys, but Frankie comes second no doubt. I’m proud that this is my kind of music
Imagine standing in front of a crowd of people that size both young and old singing your song back to you because it was so iconic just gives me chills
Man, can't believe the reaction that "Can't take my eyes off of you got" when the crowd heard the first couple notes. Then you have kids and adults who weren't even born during that time singing along. Thats how legendary the song is.
I found a DVD of Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons In Concert from I don't when and I just had to sit down and have a listen after all these years,it brought back happy memories of the 1970's. OH ! MEMORIES,MEMORIES.
Pushing 87 years old he a music legend . He had (has) unmatched falsetto and nobody sounds like him . Of course I had all of his albums growing up and still don’t know how he make those tones . He has a deep speaking voice but singing it’s like two at once and then hits those highs ….awesome ! I waited for episodes of the Sopranos just to see his short cameos and recently he’s still great doing those Synchronized Zoom hits. A genuine historical Treasure . Go Frankie go ! Frank D.
Made my hair stand up and sent chills through my whole body when he started singing. Loved you since I was a child, will love you until the day I die. Thank you for sharing with us Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons. You are the Greatest. 28/12/2019 It's amazing what great music can do to us.
Here I was minding my own business, when I stumbled into this performance. It is both joyous and sad, I mean how many performers are loved by the very old, the very young, people of all races, and together, we just love this man, for all of the memories he has imprinted in our minds and hearts. A reminder that despite all of our differences, regardless of what some of those in the media try to drill into our heads night after night- what separates us, that as one race- the human race, goodness is the norm.
My mother was a music major in college, her father was in a band and then owned a music store in a small town in Iowa, and I was introduced to his music in his store....and I am 43 and love all kinds of music and I still love listening to him!
This will sound kind of shattered but people like you are our only hope for the real music to live in the future. I'm not saying that today's music is not worth to listen, it's just that is so few.
Talk about perfect intonation and some kick ass pipes (at 80?!). Calling this man a legend is an understatement, music will never be the same. Thank god for Frankie Valli.
He is amazing mad respect . People reading this he is 80 year's old hear and can sing like he did 50+ years ago in his prime when he was 20-30 year's old
I saw Frankie Valle and the 4 Seasons back in 1962 just after they released Sherry, what a show. The hall had a capacity of 300 people, but that night there had to be 500 people there. You danced wether you wanted to or not.
How appropriate that was set in our nation's capital that song has a different meaning to through all the hardships and bad times we've been through lately in this country we need to hang on for what we got how appropriate we are so blessed is a nation is a country God has really took care of his country is the best country in this world and I are arguing with that to the end of the time we can do it America God bless us all need to stay together
I'm not from his generation but I'm happy to announce that it's still reaching our ears. Music brings everyone together, no matter the age, race, and sexuality. For future generations, don't let music die. It's one of the best gifts that our seniors passed down to us.
YEP, I can ditto that! I got my FCC license and I still love it after all these years. I was on radio in CA and now live in MT Big Sky Country. I play to the stars in the sky when it is a clear night. It has been a very vibrant sky so far this month. My family know that I'm lost in my music and they give me no competition in it. I have one grandson that could but won't. LOL
I am 80 and have not lost my good ear for a good song. When my grandson gets off key, I let him do it over. My brother still entertains in New England and plays five instruments. He still works the nightclub circuit and still writes his own songs. WOW, but then it pays to be 20 years younger - L O L
Frankie Valli, better and better with the years. The reality is that he had been great from day one. What a voice, what a singer, what a performer. I really love this guy. God bless him!!!
Frankie Valli is one of my favorite singers......he has a certain tone in his voice that inspires me. One of the great Italian American singers of our time!
Time will never see again, the likes of Mr F. Valli & the four seasons. A golden heyday for proper rock & roll. No wonder people keep going back to listen to this!
I know most my age would call me a total geek, dork or whatever (I’m 18) but wow i love this guy and this music so much, just can’t get enough and i know understand how my parents constantly trash today’s music as “junk” totally awesome! New fan forever. Cheers everyone and please stay safe during this horrible pandemic. This made me forget all the troubles our country is facing presently. Proud 🇺🇸
J.J.I’m 62 when I was in 7th grade they were my favorite group and The Beach Boys, anything Motown. And anything from the 50s.Loved,Loved ,Frankie Vallie and the 4 seasons .I did not care what what my peers thought . They were in to The music of the day. I did like rap, but then it started to get to dirty.Imagine listening to CardiB. WAP in the car with children 😳😳😳😳. P.S. I also bought the Grease album when I started high school…summer 1978. It’s the sound track of my high school years. Still listening to Frankie and Grease after all these years. (From the UK).
