It's great, only 7% of Scots go to church. I'm so happy about that, proud my nation has banished the hateful bible. I was careful what I gave my child to read. Books that extolled murder and genocide weren't given to her, that included the bible.

Funny you say that! Apparently you have never read the Bible for yourself and have missed a lot! Why should you blindly follow what some ignorant people have ever said about God, His creation and the Bible? I encourage you to read it and you'll be very much surprised to find out that it has described the Earth as round and hanging on nothing more than 5000 years ago! A few millennia before any of the scientists discovered that! And...guess what!? The very great scientists (like Galileo, Copernicus and later Pascal and Newton) who made this grand discoveries were devout Christians, believing in the Creation!

We know better now. Back in the day all scientists were religious, that doesn't mean that religion was required for science. The opposite really when you consider what Christians once did to scientists for daring to contradict the old book of nonsense you have such faith in. As Sam Harris said, back in the day all chicken pluckers had a religious faith. That doesn't mean you need religious faith to know how to pluck a chicken.

@@vladim73 I have read the bible several times cover to cover, even lead bible studies, and I now find it to be complete hog-wash. I'm not convinced any more of the existence of god or Jesus. Trev is correct.
