I wouldn't compare Opie's death to anything in Hamlet. The earliest major death is Polonius, who I believe is Piney in SoA. Probably Opie's death is comparable to Ophelia? Jax 'loved' Opie, as did Hamlet with Ophelia, but Opie died protecting Jax, not because he was driven insane. Chibs and Bobby would be Rosencrantz and Guildenstern if anything at all. Certainly Gemma is the Queen and Clay is King - but where does that leave Tara? Tiggy will be killed next.
The series 'Sons Of Anarchy' is based on the book 'Hamlet'. They didn't want to kill Opie off, but they had to do it, in order to keep the series based on Hamlet.
SOA is based on a book. In order for it to be exactly like the book, they had to delete two major characters. Opie was suppose to be gone a long long time ago, but everyone loved him so much and they decided to keep him. But, they already signed for a 7th season, and Opie had to be one of the first main characters to die. And all of this is because of the book 'Hamlet'. And I believe it will be Bobby.
