Nick said the song weaves a story about his meeting with Manuela O-o : "It's about a guy who's in love with a girl, but she's got another guy. He shoots him, gets the girl and then realises she's not the one he wants at all - he wants somebody else, i.e. Manuela". Pretty confusing, though, aye?)
I just want to say something similar happened with "Take Me Out". it was a song about two people in love, either one waiting for the other to ask the other out, using terms that made it sound like two snipers/whatever waiting for the other to take the first shot since they were both probably going to die anyway.
I do like Nick's voice as well but Alex's is so damn sexy! I love it when Alex and Nick harmonize, they sound fantastic together. Dream Again on Tonight is such a perfect example of that. This song does sound more Box Codax than Franz Ferdinand.
Man, you're gonna hurt yourself digging this way! That's not the proper way to dig a hole you'll not be able to come out... You see?! I've just did it.
I really sat down and listened to the lyrics. I thought the song itself was alright, nick has kind of a weird voice for singing I guess. But yea. the lyrics are weird, because it's a ghost, or a person who's alive, reflecting on what did happen or could have happened. One of four outcomes.
wow now I'm spamming, but maybe she killed the speaker and not her lover, just to protect herself. "She shoveled the dirt into my face, but I don't care. I love her." I wish it wasn't 5am so someone else could agree/disagree. :(
