We NEED something like this where I live! I live in a cramped two-bedroom group home and they treat it like a prison here!

preach. they need more 2 and 3 bedroom too. its disgusting how hud and section 8 can give it to these terrible ghetto mothers with 5 kids and drug dealing baby daddies who ruin the apartment and cause havoc. but not the people who really need them like us high function mentally disable folks.

Looks like a great place, I myself have high functioning Autism and I think it would do good to have my parents not have to worry about me, I'll definitely think about this.

I have borderline intellectual functioning, PTSD, ADHD/ADD, and bipolar depression. A place in which I could live.

Perhaps forget group homes. They're no good anyway!

I have autism spectrum disoders and I'll never live in a group home. I'm going to eventually get out of my childhood home to an apartment to my own house in the near future. Programs for people with disabilities don't help the people being served. They just treat you like you're in jail and like children despite being an adult.

@@evanhalsey1844 Why don’t you live with your family instead? That way you’re not stressing over bills, money, etc

I still do right now. I still plan to move out and live on my own since that’s what I want to do and am able. Since I have autism I have to do everything I’m able to do such as living on my own and am not afraid of the challenges and responsibilities that come with it.

There needs to be more housing for people with disabilities, that also respects our agency and dignity. Too many residences and programs treat us like prisoners or children. We end up forgoing support, or surrendering our dignity and potential to get a few scraps.
