My wife of 39 yrs old died of breast cancer in 2011. We use to watch this show together and just laugh our butts off. I still love watching the reruns today. I can still here her laughter in a show she loved so much. Thank you Frasier for the wonderful memories.
I can picture this so easily. Mine and I are watching through the box set now for the first time. We've never laughed so much at any tv show. It's a great way to spend time with somebody. I'm pleased for you that you can enjoy those memories of laughing on the couch together. Must have been so hard to lose her - but 39 years is an amazing gift.
There will never ever be a program like this again. Television perfection from the writing to the casting to the acting. Emotional, funny, thought provoking. Very much missed. RIP John Mahoney. The greatest show of all time
Casting wasn't always great for smaller parts, especially when they brought in English characters. I'm watching it atm as an English person and man, some of those accents are godawful. Daphne's brother Simon inexplicably had a London accent despite being from Manchester. Still love the show though!
@@gailwebb9619 - I watched that show when it first aired, now I watch in reruns. Great show. I never knew David Hyde Pierce was gay. I’d seen him in other work, and he reminded me of my brother-in-law who is very metrosexual… and straight. I think his portrayal of Niles, a man obsessed with beautiful Daphne, is testament to his skillful acting abilities. He was the best character in that show. My hubby liked Roz…….MEN!
he's so adorable. i grew up watching him on Frasier so when my love showed me Say Anything and he was the dad and kind of a "bad guy", in that movie, I didn't like seeing him that way!!!
Honestly, John accidentally saying "Kels" is one of the most wholesome things I've ever seen. What an incredible cast, miss ya John, reboot won't be the same without you for sure, but it will certainly all be done in your memory
Ditto! Just having something to laugh at after a hellish day at work, or dealing with my toxic family. I could watch Frasier, and forget about it for a little while. It helped me so much, and I missed it so much after the series ended, I bought it on DVD, so I can watch it commercial free any time I wish. It _still_ helps me through the bad days!!!
Mine was... Niles... "I guess at the next meeting of the _Haven't kissed Roz Club,_ it will just be me and the Archbishop." (Roz lays a kiss on Niles I would gladly die to get! 😁) Niles looks to Frasier with a look of complete amazement and says... "EVERYONE kisses better than Maris!" 😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣 That scene has me ROFLMAO every time I see it!!!
This show should fall under the category of: antidepressant. It's given me smiles, laughter, and some much-needed distraction during some very low points in my life. They say that "Art feeds the soul" To me *Frasier* has had the same therapeutic effect as a beautiful painting or inspiring poem. I'm grateful for everyone involved with it. From infront to behind the scenes. Thanks!
Glad to see I'm not the only one who goes to sleep watching Frasier. Favorite show of all time. Like they said in the clip the writing is hilarious but what makes it even funnier is the physical comedy done by all of the actors 🤣
Kevin P That would have made an interesting spinoff. Considering Niles and Daphne were married together with a child at the end of the series, I would have been curious to see what their lives were like after that.
@@bluebear1985 I never saw this reply. Sorry for the 3 year delay. I admittedly haven't watched the last couple of seasons so haven't seen how they wrapped everything up!
David Hyde Pierce absolutely steels the show, and with a cast as funny and talented as this, he still kills it. Niles is one of my favorite characters of all time!
I spent much, even most of my life at loose ends, struggling to figure out what I was supposed to be doing in this world. I tried being an actor, a lawyer, a teacher... nothing suited me. I was watching an episode of Frasier one night, and it struck me. In the episode, Frasier was struggling to get to Frasier Crane Day celebrations, and just when he was able to get there, he chose to stay and help a man in need. Frasier was intelligent, principled, noble and tasteful... qualities I like to think I have myself. I realized, THAT was the life I wanted. So, I returned to school (at 40... they dubbed me "Grandpa Frosh"), and pursued a degree in psychology. I graduated with honours, owing a great debt to Kelsey Grammer and the creators of Frasier, for inspiring me to reach for what I truly needed to be. I love the show, I love the characters, and I love everyone involved in its creation. RIP John Mahoney, he'll never be forgotten. And, to Bebe Neuwirth, hubba hubba. Had to be said.
This is one of the best RU-vid comments I've ever read. What an incredible thing to have your life realized by a TV show. Amazing! I hope you're out there still enjoying your career.
@@ForceMaximus84 ; That was great! But for me, the best part was when Roz lit the cherries jubilee, and they blew up in her face! Hysterical!!! 😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣
I was just thinking the same thing. I was watching another video of Frasier outtakes, the one with the "Hot 'N Foamy" scene. I was laughing so hard because that's truly one of the best scenes ever written for television, and seeing John hardly being able to say the line without bursting into laughter was awesome. But suddenly in the middle of laughing, I stopped. I just couldn't anymore because all I could think is he's gone now. I wanted to cry. So yes, R.I.P. John Mahoney. You are sorely missed.
I was off work for 3 months from stress and anxiety. I watched this programme every day as part of my chill out time. 20 years later and it is still being shown on our TV. I tape them and watch when I need to chill out. It's always been my go to comfort zone and I will always be grateful for this programme. It is the best.
I've never been off work for anxiety like you, but I'd say this show has had a lot to do with that - especially during this pandemic. About 5 times a week I search for Frasier clips on RU-vid, mostly Niles based - as he Is my favorite. My sense of humor is my birthright as well as my best coping mechanism through all this "crapola" as I call it.
Sounds like a perfect Rx to de-stress. I'm off work now, for a concussion & low back injury, & I am so glad I got a new TV, & hooked up my new analog box,& my antenna, again, because I can watch 2 hours of episodes of Frazier on Cozi. Makes me crack up, & eases my pain, & stress.
Frasier was a life changing experience for me because a lot of the episodes had actual psychological viewpoints that helped me during my separation years and divorce. I am forever grateful for this show not only for the humor and hopes it inspired during a difficult time in my life, but because it gave me hope for the existence of true love again.
@@seanwiederholt7554 If there's anything this show taught us, it's that there's always hope. No matter how bad things get for Fraiser, Niles, Roz or Daphne.. they always take it in, move along and become better than before. Eg. Frasier gets fired from his show, Roz has an accidental pregnancy, Niles dealing with his divorce, Daphne with her parents. They all have real problems but never fall apart. That's what life is all about. Making it through the storm.
My wife and I turn on Frasier every night before bed to wind down and fall asleep for the past few years. Once and a while we'll catch an episode we haven't seen and we get a good laugh.
My favorite all time scene was when Daphne came home and found the whole household, including Eddie the dog in her bedroom, that was pretty hilarious!!
I never realized how much of Frasier's vocal mannerisms were borrowed from other characters. It's so weird to hear Kelsey speak with the same timbre but different inflections and jargon.
I didn't discover Frasier until two years after it ended. I loved it so much that I know own every single season. When I was 22 I had an opportunity and I must mention a great honor to meet David Hyde Pierce with my sister. He was such a doll! Best show ever and a show I plan to show my future children
in my "sign on" 69 used to represent the year I graduated from High School, now it's the year I was born...Time, like this sitcom, gets away from you...**sigh**...
There were just so many classic moments in the show. It is the Greatest Spin Off of all time. One they took their time on, developed the characters well and the crisp, beautiful writing and high standards keep the show fresh and timeless
outtakes are so much funnier than the show because it shows you that everyone is human and no matter how many times you rehearse you can still screw up and have fun! thats what life is all about..enjoy!
+Powerranger6342 I recently found out too (prior to seeing this video) It's so tragic... I mean, the whole event. But David himself was one of the great writers of our generation.
Without a doubt one of the best shows to ever be seen on television. It was the Perfect blend of great writing, great directing and the chemistry between the great cast.
You are perfectly right! Great writing, Great directing and Great acting. Loved the show from the very first episode to the last episode and still do😀😀
My wife and I have watched every episode probably a dozen times. One of the best written and acted shows ever. Even the guests were so well done: Harriet Sansone Harris - Bebe Glazer, Jane Adams - Mel, Jean Smart - Lorna, Wendy Malick - Ronnie, Anthony LaPaglia - Simon). All were amazing.
I was in my late teens when the show started. Grew up watching Cheers as a kid and had to follow Frasier to Seattle. The writers on this show were amazing and the way all the actors delivered were superb. Frasier and Niles, so pompous and snooty never disappointed. There was a comfort watching every week and at 50 yrs old now I haven't missed a re-run every single night since the last episode in 2004. ❤
Who else thinks John Mahoney is kind of adorable at 00:09 when he messes up his line & then points at the smile of embarrassment on his own face? Just cute.
when they were talking of how many other characters they brought into the show, Betty Davis, etc. I can't help but think when Frasier was in Daphne's room and ran out....he brought in the character of ET!!!!!
That clip during the closing credits must have been a prank pulled on Kelsey by the rest of the cast. It looked pretty obvious that he wasn't expecting them to get into the tub like that.
Who remembers Frasier's face while driving the RV - when he purposely turned the wheel because Niles was staring at Daphne's arse too long? It was the only time I remember Frasier literally showing *teeth* it was such a big smile - then there was NILES, tossing himself into cabinets and off to the back of the RV - hysterical! BEST EVER.
Frasier was just awesome. Seen most episodes four or five times at least. So well written and intellectual but works for me because we see Frasier and Niles get their pomposity pricked as they struggle to understand normal people.
@@notsureiL ; I was going to say, Martin always finds a way of keeping their feet on the ground. 😁 Remember the episode where Frasier and Niles decided they were long-lost heirs of the Romanov Dynasty? The way Martin burst their bubble was hysterical!!! 😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣
one of the funniest episodes (in my opinion) other than the "restaurant" is the one when they are taking a trip in the motorhome and Niles climbs in the wrong one. That is hilarious ! great writing and great actors !!!!!!
OHHHHHHHHHHHH!! For the LOVE of HUMANITY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU!!!!!!!!! YES YOU in the ORANGE HATS! SHUT UP!!!!!!!!!!!!! Whoever put that on the cutting room floor should be kicking themselves.
I like the one where Niles has a sword fight with the German, and there's a muddle in the translation : the maid translates , it goes along the line and ends with Frasier : then the mistake is discovered. Also the bit where Niles is on the piano, taunting the German, waves the sword and it flies away.
All great episodes! Another of my favorites is "High Holidays"... Niles never had a moment of teenage rebellion, so he decided to. He gets a pot brownie from Roz (her neighbor makes them!). Martin eats it, thinking it's a regular brownie, and replaces it with one from the Cafe Nervosa. Niles goes about acting like an idiot, and blaming it on "the ganja". While Martin is stoned off his ass, thinking he took too much cough syrup. It's HYSTERICAL!!! John Mahoney stole the show in that episode!!! 😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣
I didn’t watch Frasier until years after it started One night I couldn’t find anything to watch so I watched,Ti this day almost every night bf I fall asleep I watch one or two shows. It is the funniest sitcom I have ever seen.I can’t choose one bc there’s so many!Such great actors everyone of them
Iv watched every episode and have them continually on a loop, they are the start to my day, best sit com ever made.Still going strong, and what a cast.!!
I used to see frasier on tv when I was 7 or 8 and thought bit boring but now im 21, studying psychology and when lockdown came I watched all 11 seasons of the show in about 3/4 months. the greatest television ive seen at least in comedy.
They just don't make shows like this anymore. To be so good that they're able to say this is when we are going to stop. And we would've just kept on watching for years and years. Classic.
Kelsey Grammer and Steve Carell, we're by far the most talented actors to have ever played a character on a television show, I am just in awe of how they could do it, their facial expressions, timing, mannerisms, everything that it takes to bring a character to life they did it far better than anyone else has ever done or will be able to do, I'm so happy to have been able to watch them play their roles, it has made my life just a little bit better and happier!
Hands down the best show to be ever made. I have watched the whole thing 3 times and it still makes me smile...thank you to all of you. Also love the fact that you all have love and respect for one another. Makes it even more sweeter, and it was reflected on the show.
My favorite sitcom on Netflix. Gonna miss it when it finally disappears on Dec. 31. I don't know what else I'll watch after that. Nothing can replace this show. The characters are like a 2nd family to me now. I'll miss the coffees...
