Saw Christine Baranski at the Kennedy Center, starring in an excellent production of 'Mame.' And co-starring with her was none other than Harriet Harris, AKA Bebe Glaser.
William Craig I saw Harriet Harris as the Stepmother in Cinderella on Broadway! I met her at the stage door afterwards and she couldn't be nicer. Definitely not a Bebe Glazer or Wicked Stepmother. I've also seen Tom McGowan (Kenny) in Wicked and David Hyde Pierce in Hello Dolly.
I wonder what women like Nora must have thought of all those girls that pranced up and down the Sunset Strip back in the 80's sleeping with one rock star after another. Or if maybe women like her were once wild like those girls.
She does have a point. If you have been dating someone for two years and they try to change the subject when marriage is discussed, end the relationship.
Because they're still either being called whores or sluts and are being told to take that as a compliment, or because as a result of the sexual revolution, when they don't want to do it they're called 'frigid'
Dr. Nora is loosely based on Dr. Laura Schlessinger. (Pretty damn close I would say). And for many years before Dr. Laura Schlessinger's mother passed away, they were at odds with each other that they never reconciled as mother and daughter. I'll say one good thing about Dr. Nora on this episode of 'Frasier', she didn't say the "n word". Paramount and NBC would have been in big trouble if they let the writers get away with it. But Dr. Laura Schlessinger said it on her radio show way after this episode.
Thx, forgot there was actually a _real_ Dr Nora, and yeah, Schlessinger was a lightning rod for 'controversy', who also routinely said stuff like calling gays “deviant” and “biological errors”!
@@LowenKM Yeah, Dr. Laura Schlessinger was a real piece of work. When she was on the air she would bash couples for "shacking up" (not being married) and bashing single working moms when she herself was a single working mom as a radio talk show host raising her son. When he became older he broke the law doing something stupid, was arrested and jailed for it. Hypocrisy at its best from this so called nutcase of a therapist.
In all seriousness, I say that the caller should dump the guy. Living for years with a partner who is afraid of marriage when you’re not is a sign that it’s a dead-end relationship.
