Look sometimes you have to put in extra hours at work or be willing to do more around the office. Other times you have to have a one night stand with your gay boss it how the world works
He is!! We're currently watching Frasier (we just started season 3) and I remember when we watched The Matchmaker I was like hubba hubba (wolf whistle)!
What makes this scene awesome is knowing the backstory! The producers were close to removing Eric Lutes from playing Tom because they didn't think he had the right look, but in this scene, where he took off his glasses and gave Frasier the smolder look ( 1.40 ), they knew he was perfect for the role!
1:40 If this isn’t a “you can get it it if you want it look” then I don’t know what is. Get you somebody who looks at you the way Tom looks at Frasier here. 🔥
2:54 The hot spot of Daphne's angst is practically self-evident with that hot toss of her strapless bra! That, along with Martin's loud belly-laugh is what sold this episode!! Awesome!!!!
Years later they took the same confusion further, with Frazier allowing a camp opera producer played by Patrick Stewart to go on just so he could be around celebrities "I've always wanted to be part of a power couple, so what if there is an slight issue!"
Shows like Frasier, Gilmore Girls, Seinfeld and Moonlighting boomed because they were so well written and had actors skilled in exchanging sharp, witty repartee.
Niles had such incredible timing! He knew exactly how long to wait after dropping the “I won the coin toss .” to allow laughter from audience! Best part of series!
When Niles tells Martin that Tom was not interested Daph... (scene in the kitchen) when Niles "said" uh-uh-uh.... LOVE that non-verbal line.... This episode and the the Ski Lodge are my favs. Best sitcom EVER!!!!
@@itdoesntmattertbh In a joking way, by 'under that impression' Niles meant that Tom is under the impression that he (Tom) is gay. Which is an obvious statement of fact, but the joke being that Frasier thought Tom was not gay.
John Johnson I can’t imagine how many takes must’ve been shot without everyone cracking up thanks to her unbelievably great body language as she spins, yanks off the bra, and changes her gait to “pissed”.
*"Well I sorta relaxed my 'rule' for you too."* .... LMFAO!!! XD ....gosh this show was soooo *FUNNY* , witty and had a brilliant cast! Sure miss quality shows like this!
"I won the coin toss". Classic Niles. Great characters, writing, and stories. This show is still relevant and holds water. Bravo to the creator David Angell, who died in one of the planes on September 11th.
Eric Lutes' breakout role! He went on to play Caroline's sort of love interest that everyone assumed was gay in "Caroline In The City." "No, mom, he's not gay, just lonely"
The scene prior to this with Martin and Frasier making gay innuendos without knowing it while the dudes sitting there like "whoa" is the funniest skit on Frasier
What's funny and interesting to me is how effortlessly suave Frasier was at the radio station when he asked Tom over for dinner. He actually did a great job and was very compelling. If only he could be that cool when getting his own dates. Also, Tom was so sexy. I felt bad for him as he and Frasier seemed to get along so well before the big reveal. And poor Daphne, getting her hopes crushed again. I really wish Tom had been a more regular character, though.
You've left out the funniest part of the episode Daphne 'I haven't laughed like that in a long time' Martin 'Hahahahahahahahaha' in the background after Niles tells him the truth (RIP)
I have to hand it to shows like Frasier and Spin City and their handling of issues involving homosexuality. All in the Family brought LGBT issues out in the open, and Frasier and Spin City helped to normalize the LGBT community, make their issues mainstream, and break down stereotypes.
i know i sound like a bigot but i like when homosexuality is dealt with like this. no agenda or hitting you over the head with a message just a funny situation
@@zackcross7190 I love what you said. I don't like it when someone takes a single aspect and makes it the ONLY worthwhile aspect of their personality. Show some depth, people!
