@@ianfinrir8724 That's an interesting way of looking at it. Makes me think you're often served it too warm. Red wine should be served around 18-20 (65-70 in F).
I like in the one scene Roz tells that guy to be Frasier chardonnay and Frasier pretends to like chardonnay out of politeness and then two scenes later Frasier goes "It's Montrachet time!" Montrachet is chardonnay from the village of Montrachet in Burgundy, FR.
Frasier has expensive taste when it came to wine however I never understood why he served Beaujolais Nouveau to guests a few times. Also at 5:14 Cote De Brouilly is not from Bourgogne, it's from the region next to it (Beaujolais). Yes I am a wine nerd but also a massive Frasier fan.
Blame it on the rise of Prosecco and Tsuki no Katsura. Tsuki no Katsura is an effervescent sake🍶 (rice wine) deriving its fizz and sweetness from the addition of glutinous rice to the primary rice mash, and it's frequently used as a champagne substitute in many high-end restaurants. It's almost impossible to taste the difference unless you know your sake🍶. Prosecco has also been used as a cheaper and more accessible alternative to champagne. But all this only means that people have got accustomed to the flair of the fizz and don't really know the taste of the yeast anymore. Except Frasier and Niles, that is.
Is alcohol a acquired taste or is it more of a genetic predisposition to like drinking. I just cant stand drinking the smell is ok but theres just something about it i dont like.
