Not a Pompey fan but this is a proper football club. Love this ground redevelopment which maintains the integrity of the ground. Traditional football club with a proper ground to match

And to think there are some deluded fans calling for the owners to leave the club. Some of the things they are doing to the ground and training facility’s are premier league standard. Clubs money doesn’t just have to buy players, this sort of work will give us a far better chance of going up and staying up

Totally agree mate, the Eisners are brilliant, some idiot fans wanting them gone are off their nuts, they have very short memories and not recall the awful dark times of our recent past when we almost went out of business, the Eisners are superb, I love what they are doing to FP and will be forever grateful we are staying in the old girl, come on PUP PPU

Quite right Alex. Unfortunately every club has its fair share of deluded idiots who are never satisfied. A few years ago we were within a hair's width of going out of business altogether. Now we are solvent, have our own training ground in Portsmouth and the added bonus of the first serious ground upgrade for many years.

Yeah, I was there that day......lucky he did not get his head caved in..... went to Fratton Park back in the dark days of the 70's, when Pompey had a proper mob, the Fulham fans were in the side with railings either side, and a huge crew burst in a gate and the police could not control it, it was carnage for us!!! Even my mates girlfriend had her nose broken.....memories!!

I hope they put separate IN and OUT doors at opposite ends to the Gents Loo's to avoid the half time bottlenecks, that you get at many grounds. This is the chance to get things right first time, hope the Architects have some idea about how crowds act when mother nature calls. Little Bournemouth got it right, 'that other lot' (spit) nearer to home down the M27 messed it up bigtime with only width for one person in the entrance point to the loo, and not enough space for people to leave whilst others queued to get in.

With everything in balance and the budget he has and now a third window and with the training programme hopefully starting to yield some results we can compete this season. Nothing is guaranteed and this season might not be the one, I want to at least see us up there though fighting out a promotion place by the end, win or lose.

There is something i don't understand...( sorry for the mistakes in this comment i'm french) and I REALLY WOULD LIKE TO HAVE A ANSWER. With the new seets does it mean that the seats that were at (and that's why i said i'm french because i don't know what are the words you use to describe in Pompey what i'm gonna talk about)but the seats that were at the "LAWN LEVEL" (like your eyeline is as low a the grass) are now gone ? Because i tought it was the coolest thing on earth and i realy don't understand how and why Pompey's fans didn't fought about that ?
@martind8404
@martind8404 2 года назад
Yes, that's correct - the seating will start at pitch level rather than below. Although the old arrangement may have been cool, your view is basically the players' feet and you couldn't see the other side of the pitch due to the slight camber (hump) in the pitch. It was originally designed for standing, but take off the approx 1m difference between standing and sitting height, it really is a terrible view. Plus players regularly fall down off the pitch onto the seats, so it's a health and safety nightmare! I don't think we'll miss the trench, but I do have happy memories, as I used to stand at the front when I started going at 9 years old.
@callanparsons8707

Anyone know what the capacity will be once completed as it looks like it’ll be a good 2,000-3,000 increase
@MrRQBQ
@MrRQBQ 2 года назад
I believe Andy Cullen said when the current work is complete it will be back up to 20,000 but of course after that the Milton End is being redeveloped which will probably increase the capacity by another 1,500 and then of course, hopefully, in the not too distant future the new North Stand will add another few thousand to the total.
@callanparsons8707
@callanparsons8707 2 года назад
@@MrRQBQ perfect thanks :) I’ve heard when they first took over they was planning on doubling the fratton end which I believe is currently 5,000 unless there’s reasons to not expand fratton end then I think they could probably add another 2,000
@MrRQBQ
@MrRQBQ 2 года назад
@@callanparsons8707 I've not heard anything about the Fratton End but I imagine it would be possible to add another tier to the current stand. Other clubs have done similar.

@robb8002
@robb8002 2 года назад
@@christopherbowness7341 Yes of course. After 6 years of ownership we have a team of no value. We have a patched up stadium dictated by bare minimum requirements of health and safety. And 2 experienced academy coaches have left because there is no investment in youth development. Open your eyes mate
@christopherbowness7341
@christopherbowness7341 2 года назад
@@robb8002 I agree it’s not been exactly what we expected. Regarding the stadium is harsh, I’ve been going for over 30 years now and the stadium is now looking fantastic and will be much more pleasant match day experience And is hardly done on the cheap. The academy or lack of has been a disappointment. And this summer they must invest i. That first team squad. But a lot of other clubs have far better infrastructure than us, we have always had to pay over the odds the attract the players. Players get more money elsewhere as investment is having to go to so many other avenues. We stopped being a big club king before the eisners arrived. They haven’t got all things right but they’ve done so much more then previous owners over the last 30 years. Terry venables was the last owner to put investment into the ground, 22 years ago now!

Every stand has obstructed views with roof stanchions blocking your views of the pitch. Even smaller clubs have eradicated this problem.
@MrRQBQ
@MrRQBQ 2 года назад
From what I've heard, it's not possible to install a cantilevered stand at the Milton End because it's on contaminated ground which means they can't do any piledriving. I'm not sure whether that also applies to a possible new North Stand but there weren't any problems when they developed the new Fratton End so who knows.
