They didn't throw out random hypers, one of them was a misexecuted TK air super with Task master. They are playing a zoning game, if it was going to time out for any reason it would be because of both players respecting the zoning capabilities of the other player. Kusoru won Final Round because he was on another level, especially with the mental aspect. He had uploaded his matches and technology for months before Final Round, it wasn't exactly secret.
How was it secret. It was announced he won like 2-3 weeks before the event. If you typed his name in Japanese, into youtube or nicovideo, you will find previous matches of him... Justin Wong was using his main team and it wasn't working, he switched to an alternate team that involved Felicia, to catch up on some wins.
I'm on agree with Emillll here, you have to watch until the end of the video to see how good Taskmaster are escpecially this Taskmaster can take Kurosu's Rocket Raccoon out while doing an assist log trap.
Yeah, he did, the thing is if the guy uses a spencer and have decent reaction, that kind of strategy will die so quickly, a bionic arm will go through the kick, hit Joe, then the trap and raccoon, but it can miss the raccoon and get hit by the log because its only like 15 frames invincibility, unlike that Hulk meteor combo.
If anyone ever watched Kusoru matches he seems to always have a hard time against Task Master especially really good Tasky players. Shield skill is such a good move.
I am with Emill in the Us all they care are top tier character i have seen japan tournament and let me tell you they have their team well balance Pr rog adapt well but he character are rush type character not zoning character thats why he had hard time getting in with that trap look for Apegen team Tron Thor and She hulk he is beast
It was pretty secret. Nobody knew a thing about Kusoru before FR and nobody expected it. I still stand to my opinion that he won solely because of how little people knew his stuff. Justin Wong went 8-10 against him. People think that proves hes good but then they realize Justin wasn't using his main team and he was just playing around. Pr Rog just needed a couple more matches to adapt and he would have take FR. Chris G could probably take out Kusoru too. Just saying
sigh Kusoru's gameplay is well beyond that, the problem is the americans at final round couldn't seem to block even the basic log trap setups. Also Kusoru has very good blocking and reactionary counters to many things, also able to convert into combos from many different kinds of situations. Pay attention more to his gameplay.
People (mainly the commentators) were overstating PR Rog's adaptation. The concept of baiting out a log trap assist is very simple, I don't know why people are making a big deal of it. Punishing the log trap on the other hand, after baiting it, isn't so easy and he wasn't really doing that. In the final match (the 5th one), he made the same mistakes that he made in the first and second matches. catching him in ONE happy birthday and landing felicia infinite on incoming char is not adapting...

good taskmaster is a very good player let him nose like some falcon by eye to revalue a taskmaster someone has the top players in japan today and that since this kusoru and apareza the name of another player!
@bazookafox Just a bunch of noobs, why do you people even bother to watch videos if you do it with your eyes closed? He dropped maybe 3-4 combo attempts, some of them were because of character's small size(I don't need to remind you of America dropping almost all their combos on Joe/Raccoon at Final Round). The player then simplified his combo to work on short characters and didn't drop anymore.
Kusoru is just calling out assists in the worse times, I mean come on!! he played a bit of zoning in the first game and its working, why try to rush in.
I'm not saying that he's not a good player I'm just saying I don't agree with his play style. Playing keep away with a log assist and waiting for the opponent to get hit then move in that is his whole strategy/gameplay? in my opinion it is cheap
Do you not play this game at all? Throwing random hypers and unsafe moves while not being able to finish the basic of basic combos constitutes as the best Task you've ever seen? You must worship those online Akumas then. Neither of these guys look like they've spent a good amount of time on the game. The only reason it didn't time out was because they pressed buttons for some reason and got birthday'd by log trap. The only reason Kusoru won was because he had the right tech at the right time
Sigh your not too smart are you? Saying it's a strategy doesn't change the fact that it is cheap. anyone can create a strategy( having Phoenix/Sentinel as last on your team is a strategy is it not) it is a smart strategy however it isn't one to be proud of.
What he's accomplished is all based on cheap tactics...it's not that i don't think that he's a good player it's just the way he's able to beat people is really cowardly that's all.....and he's always gloating it pisses me off.
LOL really now.listen kid anyone who knows how to play tremendously good can easily come up with a team that is hella cheap. Take Combofiend and Justin Wong for instance. They are more than capable of creating a team where all the do is play keep away with a fucking Log -_-..YET they use characters that are WELL ROUNDED. Don't fucking come to me about about wins and loses everyone wins and everyone loses. It's about how you win and how you lose that counts. Wining via One trick pony isn't a win.
