"You put fire to everything you touch, McNulty, then you walk away while it burns!" Considering the miserable position McNulty was in throughout season 3 when it came to his job, his family, his mental state... that comment really must have hit him hard.
He WAS right, but he still was ungrateful to Daniels. And Lester still didn't want to give up on Kintel, he intended to do a job on Stringer behind the scenes, like he always did. Lester did what he wanted to do and didn't let the bosses know, notifying them when he felt needed - like he did with his findings in Barksdale stash house in Season 1, and with Marlo in season 5. McNulty, on the other hand, refused to take part in the job he didn't consider worthy
Daniels lost it on McNulty too - both in season 1, when he refused to jump, and in season 3 when he found out that McNulty went behind his head to change the objectives of the unit
@@nbabinladen5784 oh he had a lot of such....his compassion towards the murdered prostitute, caring for the poor crazy guy he switched cities, he also really hoped for true justice.... That didn't make him less unbearable at work though. BTW Bodie interaction fell on his sober/investigation-less period, so it kinda doesn't count
I watched this right after I watched the scene where Lester hops onto Jimmy's "homeless serial killer" scheme to free up more money and resources to take down Marlo. So Lester eventually came around to Jimmy's approach to policing.
Everyone saying lester would’ve got fucked up by mcnulty but he had some pull at the boxing gym to get Avon’s poster I’m guessing he had some experience
Lester was in the army which includes combat training. Plus he looks like he might know martial arts. “Skin off my knuckles” is an experienced fighter term lol
Cool Lester Smooth, the best police on the show in my opinion. As smart as McNulty except twice as loyal and driven by his moral compass instead of his ego.
Jimmy was the better police.. Just because Lester was a better person than Jimmy doesn't make him better police.. Jimmy was ready to risk everything at every step, just to do what's right for the job.. Lester, just like everyone else, did it only till it suited them
McNulty and Kima didn't fabricate a serial killer here! They just continuted investigating Stringer despite orders not to. Completely different situations!
And Lester chewing McNulty for going where the bosses don't want him to, but later helping him to create the serial killer case out of thin air? At this point, McNulty and Kima are juat being insubordinate, later on, Lester and McNulty are being plainly criminal.
Mcnulty went behind the bosses and doing his own thing to get the Barksdale case moving, so he got assigned to ride the boat as punishment. Majority of season 2, mcnulty was depressed, sad, and hopeless during his time on the boat because he wasn’t on a case. He was so depressed, he hit the bottle, crashed his car, and was sulking like a teenager. He was also moping around and caring when it wasn’t his turn to care. You would think mcnulty would have some appreciation for Daniel’s for finally getting him away from and from all of that sadness, depressing and moping around.
He drank in Season 2 not because of this. He drank because his wife let him know it's completely over between them. He was perfectly fine in Season 4 without a case but with the family.
@@bigkahuna3534I’ve seen the show 3 times and there is no implication that Jimmy can fight, meanwhile we’ve seen Freamon hit a criminal with a bottle, he’s a veteran AND it’s implied that he boxed/ trained for awhile.
No idea why people are saying McNulty would have beat up Lester... Lester would have smoked McNulty Lester would have died before losing that fight while McNulty would have been whatever about it Also, never underestimate old man strength
@@bigboy4438 Yes because he’s an old fart man. Why the hell are you underestimating age? Lester wasn’t shown to have any combat sport experience to decrease the gap between them. You’re all just fanboying Lester.
The actress who gives Freamon and Mcnulty the silent side-eye twice should have gotten a lifetime Emmy Award. Meanwhile, McNulty seems to have not learned much in this childhood years of Charm School.
