Hand on my lighter that was the point he lied about that but Bird DID kill Gant. Notice how Omar changed tone in the beginning he only lied because a witness was needed to convict Bird for the crime
There's another show where bubbles plays the mayor of a town. I can't remember what it's called but I can't take it seriously bc I can't imagine bubbles not being a junkie on the street. He played this role too well, he made me believe he lives that life.

The best part about this scene is that the plan for the arrest is based on information they got from Omar. They crack him with the bottle because Omar warns them that Bird will not think twice about throwing down with the cops. They know where to find him because Omar tells them that Bird gets high and where the best dope is. And they bring Bubbles to use the hat trick to ID Bird because Omar tells them that Bubbles knows Bird. Omar was a fucking Beast. He was a one man army.
yeah omar had the drop on bird he could have shot him like he did stinkum but who knows he was probably scared that bird would shoot him thats why he snitched to the cops
I think Omar wanted him to get sent to Jail over Brandon. Thats why he went to the police and lied about the witness thing. Otherwise he WOULD have just tracked Bird down and killed him.
This all tied together nicely, but it could have been avoided if Omar simply told them that he and Bird were cell mates in prison. That piece of info alone would have been enough for them to get Bird's full name & address.
I love when Daniels is really chuffed at something all we get is a slight half smile. Even though you know on the inside he's the happiest man alive right then.
Freamon seasons Bird with a bottle. Daniels, Greggs, and McNulty tenderize him. I normally can't stand excessive force, but there is something about Bird that "sure know how to bring it out of people, don't he" (Omar, RIP)
He was consider not a threat! Bubbles did drugs so he would only attack if he piss him off more. Plus most people react violent with witness around. if his boys was around, it could have been different.
That's not how shit go. Everybody know Bubs was a dope head and be tryna hustle up bread for his next fix. Bird probably would've entertained his fuckery any other time, which is why Bubs felt comfortable enough to approach him like that.
I love Sydnor in this. Right after Bird gets clocked he's got him on the ground with "Wheres it at!!?" He pretty much subdues him by himself until Herc rolls in, and then trolls Bird when he complains about his hand. "fkn BCH!"
I love how the Barksdale and Stanfield crews were so believably dangerous that corrupt tactics from the cops were pretty much warranted and cheered for by the audience where in some other show they'd probably be considered the bad guys 🤣
The show could have done so much more with this character. Bird, Stinkum, Wee-bey, and Savino would probably have toppled Marlo's crew if they all had stayed in tight formation.
Freamon had me CTFU. Dude was laughing like he drunk then smacked Bird with a glass liquor bottle like "bitch I got no sense", and change back to cop arresting mode.
Bird was stupid but I think he had skills with the tool. Even Omar attested and seemed to respect Bird enough to recognize that "Oh Bird will through down".
I love the attention to detail: the first thing Freamon does with the gun is make it safe by pulling the magazine and emptying the chamber, which shows that Bird carried his piece with a round already in the chamber, ready to rock. Plus, the gun doesn't fucking click just because Freamon moved it around!
Arie Fraiser maybe still not legal, but it wasn’t unnecessary, Omar said that he would have fought back(he had a gun) without thinking. It was either their plan to blindside him or chance letting bird start a firefight in the middle of the street.
@@AP-yx9de It's really hard to argue that's necessary. You still have to give someone a chance to give themselve up before you asault them. He was literally walking down the street and got smacked upside the head with a glass bottle with no warning. Do you not realize how crazy that is? If I saw that happen in front of me I would be like what the f*ck!!! And if I found out the person who comitted the assault was a cop I'd be even more infuriated.

Is it just me or does the bottle flip perfectly on its base after he smacks Bird and throws it? I know there's a broken glass sound effect but just look at the bag as the car drives forward - it seems to sort of settle right side up... Lester is a friggin boss
