Fred Anderson was a mentor to me, in the late 1970s. He didn't need to be kind to me- I was a goofy white pimply high school dude. However, he was nice to me, letting me and my buddy sit in with them, and hanging out with us at the bar next to The Birdhouse, his venue of the time (we were not old enough to get in, but it seemed to be OK) He told me stories about seeing Charlie Parker shows, and other jazz lore. I remember him Very fondly. What an awesome guy.

I enjoy seeing the curiosity of the documentarian displayed in the way the camera sniffs the air and follows the energy. Thanks for sharing another great dose of Fred's genius.
