Ram stars like Merlin Olsen, Roman Gabriel, Lawrence McCutcheon... and a Fred Dryer segment...This video is a telecast, broadcast, and production of NFL Films. I claim no ownership of this material, and do not profit from it in anyway. This video is intended for historical and educational viewing purposes.

Fred Dryer baby! A fun lovin', bad ass dude! Have a beer and spend an hour with Fred Dryer and you'll tell your grand kids about it on Thanksgiving 40 years later. Cool dude.

NFLl films, the Sabol’s are to this day the pinnacle of sports videography. Some of the greatest story telling I have ever seen. The music to accompany these films is another post entirely.

Damn! That last sack in this video is incredible. It looks like he leaps forward about 6 feet and takes the QB down with one arm. EDIT: Make that 9 feet. A freaking animal!

It was an impressive play for sure, taking on multiple blockers and motoring forward!

I just saw it and had the same reaction. He had two or three guys blocking him and he still motored past them and then leapt at the last moment to pull down the QB. Incredible play. One of the best individual plays I've ever seen in the NFL.

As a high school kid I went to play golf at a local Muni course in Lakewood California. I got paired with an older guy and this guy who was about 6’4” dressed in denim cut off short and a hang ten shirt. After the second hole the older man said to you follow football, I said yes. He then told me that the big guy was Fred Dryer of the Rams…..Dryer could not have been cooler

A hang ten shirt-that's awesome!!!! Was it El Dorado Park? (I graduated from Long Beach State back in the 80's when we were BROWN and Gold and called the 49ers.)

It's hilarious and sad at the same time to watch every highlight hit from that era and realize it would be a 15yd penalty today. I get that player safety is #1 but too many judge this with no understanding of yesterday's yardstick.

0:40 Roman Gabriel Hof Snub Was one of the best Over Half his decade the era he played 0:50 Jack Snow one of the best catches I've seen from that era. Hold up X3 in a row and the last diving catch was outstanding never seen this one 1:15 Great Runs by Dick Bass 1:40 Lawrence McCutcheon Almost a Hof Snub had at least X5 Good years but people forget his yardage Recieving on top of his rushing during the 70's he was a very productive Back all round 2:03 John Hadl easy Hof Snub his Combo with Alworth was Legendary. You don't see many Spectacular Catches from Alworth CUZZ Hadl was always hitting him in stride on the Bomb. 💣 Note Hadl hit Harold Jackson another easy Hof Snub for the TD in stride Loll #90 Larry Brooks was underated Great DL 5:55 Fred Dryer X2 safety Packer game 6:31 Dryer Tackle Chuck Foreman for loss

I was born in 1966, so the 70's Rams were my team. A little young to remember Gabriel, Snow, Hadl and Bass, but loved McCutcheon, Jackson, Brooks, Dryer et all. Great coaches and front office during that period too. Rosenbloom should have never moved them to Anaheim. If they would have got just one Super Bowl out of all those title game appearances, maybe more would be in the hall.

@@btventura9570 Thnx the Response. The Hall of Fame is a pet peave of mine is all. There's a lot of people who have a negative opinion about how the Hall operates ( From a few Players) . I just try to draw attention to the Old Skool Players . After seeing The Response from Drew Pearson and learning about ALOT of great great players with 7-9 Pro bowls not in, and then seeing the Fruit of Pro Football Reference Project to tally up the sack totals going from 1982-1960 I discovered a a bunch of great forgotten players. So I'm retired nothing else better to do. Personally I think if a player any player on the field Kickers , Punters, O-Line , D-Line if they are tops at their position for half a decade they should be seriously considered to be in. Pro Aren't always the best judge of a player but in my mind if a players a X5 Pro Bowler I think it's a good case. If it's 6+ pro bowls some have x9 and aren't in! But to me 6+ is solid. It's not perfect it's just an attempt to get attention to a Ridiculous lack of fairness to a Great American Tradition NFL Football. Last point is to me Super Bowls help but to me it's iffy at times. I got more respect for a player who stuck with the same club his whole career whether they were winners or not. And I think they deserve even more consideration for being Faithful and Excelling being the best at his position despite the lack of Support being on a weak team. Coy Bacon, Al Bubba Baker. And another thing I discovered a lot of people look at the stats and if they don't see 1,000 yrd seasons etc they misjudge the players from the 50's up to 1960 12 game seasons. Then 1960-1978 14 game seasons. Kickers should be judged by what was the top standards of the era in which they played. FG percentage has improved tremendously since the 60's-70's. Guys today are hitting like 90% but during the 60-70's it was like 70% . But hey if a kicker was leading the league for 6-8 years he ought to be in the Hall. CUZZ at his position he was a Hall of Famer. Sorry the long long response no response needed. Oh and I was Born 1969 my first years was 1978 , Steelers was my favorite till 1980. Lynn Swann etc. Be Blessed Thnx

@@btventura9570 born in 63! Bout 13 miles from the Coliseum...Ram talk in my house all the time! POP worked for the LA Times took me to my first game in 1969 plus we got free tickets to all the Pro Bowls at the Coliseum! Eric Underwood Class of 81 Downey High school CA ✌️ Took my Son to Canton Ohio in 2001 by chance we got his Ram helmet signed by Youngblood on the left horn and Dryer on the right horn! I caught Youngblood after they had Breakfast at the back door to the Hall of Fame where he signed it! Later while sitting in the bleachers I saw Dryer behind the roped off area and yelled Hey Dryer...will you sign my helmet...he replied.. man...they don't like us to do that! Real nice...I held it up and said Jack signed it this morning! He yelled toss that thing over here...I said go left a little bit and chucked him the helmet he signed it and tossed it back! It was awesome! My team!
