These clips are works of Benicio’s acting genius. He is playing Fenster as Dustin Hoffman’s Mumbles in Dick Tracy. He asked the director if he could be creative with the role since he had so few lines and gets killed off and the director told him to go for it.

Great spot! He is actually a lot like Mumbles

“He’ll flip ya. Flip ya for real” I don’t know why but this line has stuck with me for YEARS.

The way he decided to go with Fred Fenster as this goofy lumpy flamboyant guy was so funny to me.

What an intense movie! The acting, the writing, the directing - all perfect! This was a Bryan Singer film (Producer/Director). It's one of my all-time favorite movies.

No it’s not it’s because del toro started laughing then everyone else did, then they kept it in, simple as that

This is the role that made Benicio big in Hollywood.

The reason they’re all laughing at the beginning of Fenster’s bit in the lineup scene is that Del Toro ripped a killer fart right before the start of the take. Byrne is struggling to breathe.

In the "line-up" scene they were all laughing apparently because Benicio del Toro farted, and director, with some smart editing, decided to leave it in.. Cinema Magic.. 😀

Between what he does in this film, fear and loathing, and sicario, if you put all of those layers together he would make an incredible Joker in James Gunn universe
