I knew I liked Fred Hammond but hearing him speak his testimony and so humbly accept recognition makes me LOVE his character! He's amazing! Fred you help so many of us understand the gentle rains, the dirt and the storms in our lives. We are all seeds continuously growing in His word. Thank you Fred.
If you find another lyricist that has been used by God on a level such as Fred's I want to hear his music. To God be the glory for MY man...my tears tell my story. Fred thanks for allowing God to be there with me.
I believe Rosario was part of Radical for Christ, so she knows Fred's work extremely well. Incredible singer. As for Fred, he's simply the best R&B singer of Christian music of our generation. He can write, produce, sing, play, you name it. I just thank God for him. His music has carried me through so much I just wouldn't know where to begin. Anointed, used of God, battle tested and accomplished. Love you Fred! Keep going bro. Your reward in heaven will be amazing!! Here on earth too. :-)
@AwakeningFaith I was listening to him on the radio a while back. He mentioned Commissioned, and there was no ill will against him and the group. He mentioned on how the Lord called him out because He had another assignment for him. Everything there is a season. That song Running Back to You was with Commissioned. God is not a stagnant God. He's always calling you to grow.
Fred is the best. Awesome psalmist, truly touched by the Hand of God. He is my all time favorite and his music has helped to encourage me (and I know many others) through many trials and tribulations and for that I thank God for Fred! Kirk is absolutely right when he said Fred is like our David! Composing songs that speak to the glory of God exclusively! One of a kind is Mr. Hammond! He truly is most notable and very deserving of this award!
Big ups to Fred, but all I know, is that M.O.S harmony on "No Weapon" brought chills, and the band was on point especially opening up the song "Blessed".

Oh yes Isaac's vocal are incredible but his big brotha next too him, wow, I wish he had time to cut loose. As for Sister Rosario, her dress was fine, let us remember her heritage, black and latino if memory serves so if nothing else it was culturally appropriate. Like Kirk Franklin said "Fred inspired 'people of color' to worship." Both Franklin and Hammond had huge followings in the Latin world.

I know, right?! They wasn't even mentioned in the little recap of Fred's career. It's all good though. Fred's still the man. I liked him better as a Commissioned member, and solo artist. But his choir stuff is ok. He'll always be an inspiration to me.
C'mon now man. What you wrote is all good and what not, but you know just as well as I do that that man should have mentioned something about his brothers in Commissioned. Wow!!! I seriously doubt that God cares about how they sang a tribute to Fred. I'm more inclined to think that God is more concerned with Fred being obedient to Him and putting in song what He (God) gave him to write. C'mon People, lets use our energies to thank God for the work that the saints are doing and less on finding faults in each other.

@msr18924 I didnt say wanted to be famous I said I wanted to be as big as him,, if you knew me and my parents they both will tell you I dont sing for money or fame I actually do sing and want to sing to for God and as worship... I am so strong in my worship to God I just want people to know me and be blessed by my voice as people are for Fred Hammond... Its not about fame its about what I can do with my voice
@gellybean25 If i offended you im sorry i just know that so many people want it for fame & so many people in the gospel industry aint living the lifestyle..but are you singing on here i would love to hear it! I too want people to hear the glory of what God has done for me through singing so i understand but sometimes i have to bring myself down, when i find myself saying oh i sound good and say not for me but for his glory, because i really want to be used by him and i dont want people to see me
why? He said he couldnt thank everybody and what does it matter if he doesnt thank them out loud he could thatnk them in person that doesnt give you the right to now have respect for him. dont make something so small a big deal!!
@gellybean25 You shouldn't want to sing gospel to be famous you sing to totally worship and praise God with no intention of being a celebrity...You accept jobs whether they pay 20 dollars or 200 dollars..it's all about bringing people to Christ and you must be anointed to bring people to him...but God bless you and your ministry just remember to have pure intentions!
